What planet are you living on? Nick Saban guided us from mediocrity to the pinnacle of college football, and Les Miles has been guiding us from the pinnacle back to mediocrity! Not only that, but had not Nick Saban preceded Les Miles, there never would have been a mythical national championship in 2007 or 11 win seasons in 2005 and 2006.
Thus, one built our program from scratch to the pinnacle of college football, and his successor’s record has been to a great extent piggybacked off his predecessor’s success.
Not nearly as impressive when you take into consideration that to a very large extent it was all piggybacked off of his predecessor’s success. I mean…there never would have been two 11 win seasons in 2005 & 2006 and followed up with a mythical national championship in 2007 had Nick Saban not preceded Les Miles, and if you think otherwise, seek psychiatric help.
As a matter of fact, there has never been a situation when a coach inherited a team nearly so loaded with talent as the team that fell into Les Miles lap in 2005, as Les Miles is clearly one of the luckiest people on the planet.
Indeed, it’s hard for me to figure out how he ever became a head coach to begin with, much less be the luckiest coach in the world who miraculously was selected to inherit Nick Saban’s damn strong team.
Most coaches aren’t fortunate enough to be able to piggyback off another much more talented coach. Indeed, Les Miles’ circumstances are unique in all of college football. Nonetheless, when you put Les Miles record into proper perspective it then becomes very obvious that he is more than a little incompetent.
You can’t because the program, team, and level of talent Miles inherited in 2005 from his predecessor are all unprecedented in college football history, and it is exceedingly obvious that Miles’ record and the 2007 mythical national championship to a very large extent were all piggybacked off his predecessor’s success.
Had not Nick Saban preceded Les Miles at LSU, it is very obvious that Les Miles’ record today would be mediocre at best, and it is very idiotic not to take all of that into account when you evaluate Les Mile’s performance. Indeed, anyone who isn’t blind and otherwise knows how to evaluate football coaches can easily see that Miles is a very mediocre coach at best.
4 and 5 loss seasons and worse happen all the time in college football, but not with this elite level of talent and not with a coaching staff that is one of the most highly compensated in all of college football. You should at least get what you pay for but LSU and tiger football nation are being very shortchanged by the current very mediocre coaching staff.
Yes he did, but with a lot less talent. Hell, Miles has far more talent sitting on the bench than Nick Saban ever had on his starting teams that had 4 or 5 losses. Not to mention that he followed up his previous 8 & 5 season with a mythical national championship in 2003, and the first one for LSU since 1958. Miles, on the other hand, followed his 8 & 5 season with a second mediocre 9 & 4 season that easily could have been worse and a 110th rated offense. Not to mention that there are a lot of football coaches who would be willing to die for the level of talent LSU has on offense.
As for the rest of your garbage, sorry I became too disgusted to proceed any further.
