Actually, he proposed legislation to regulate fannie and freddie due to their lending practices. The legislation was killed by the dems.

Yes, and then he signed a $700 billion dollar bailout and quasi-nationalized several banks. Not very conservative.

The obvious is not so clear to you. Just because the nitwits in Washington are registered Republicans doesn't make their policies conservative.

Voting for Democrats just makes our current problems worse. More of the same x10. Are you that naive that you really think most people look at the issues and understand the philosophical differences between conservative governing and liberal governing?

Obama is a likable, charismatic person. That is why he has the small lead he does. He is also going up against someone who has absolutely no charisma and is pretty much loathed by his own base.

The democrat controlled congress has even lower approval ratings than Bush and that is really bad. This election has nothing to do with political ideology as much as it has to do with people not liking our current conditions (and most have no idea what ideology got us here) and voting for the charismatic guy that makes them feel good.

Same thing that got Bush elected in the first place. Because he was immensely more likable than Kerry.

Their policies are consistently conservative. Name a single liberal Bush administration policy.

Not when most of the country are democrats.

I'm a lot less naive than you imagine. And the people are a lot less like sheep than you imagine. The issues are very big and very important in this election. Your notion that conservative=good and liberal=bad is only shared by conservatives.

And I think 8 years of that has been enough for the American People. We yearn for an intelligent, eloquent, and pragmatic leader not driven by ideology.

The republican Congress was no better. It's Congress itself that people disapprove of.

That was the second place. He was also more likable than Gore which got him elected in the first place. There is nothing wrong with being likable. But it must be accompanied by intellect, competence, and mental agility.

    NCLB
    Medicare Part D

Attempting to create an agency to oversee Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (although I agree with this attempt, creating regulatory government agencies is a liberal bastion)

You forgot unbridled spending and nationalizing banks.

I'm just wondering, but not all 3 branches will be liberal... yet... Obama will still have to nominate liberals to the surpreme court to take a retiring or dieing seat of one of the conservatives. Right now, in most cases when they are split down a "party" line, it is 5 to 4 conservative.
