  2. It'll definitely be interesting to see how these 2 develop, I look forward to seeing their careers unfold. If they are both as good as advertised then it will be nice because of their contrasting styles. The long baller and the athlete, I like it.

I like the article as well its getting to that time of year where they'll be something written n LSU football everyday now.

But im happy w/ the two QB's from last year. I have complete confidence in both of them. Neither of the is ever gonna have a season where they throw for over 3,000 yards. But should be around the 2,250 range. I wouldn't be suprised if one of them have a breakout game n throw's for 350 yards. Both of them have the ability to run and have proven that they can against top flight SEC teams. I have no worries at QB other than the two staying healthy.

Yeah I have complete confidence in both Mauck and Randall. I was just posting the article as a past time read. I could care less if they get a single snap this year. I think LSU will have a breakout year as long as they believe in themselves.

Mauck and Randall are still big question marks for me. I don't question their fortitude or desire, or even their athletic talent. But one of them has to show Nick a Division I arm against SEC competition and quickly or we will see a freshman QB before November.

We had top receivers getting open all year last season and neither quarterback had any kind of downfield accuracy. So everybody just stacked the line and stopped our running game. We are going to see that again if Clayton and Henderson don't get the long ball regularly. And Nick knows it.

I think one of these freshmen will get a redshirt, but the other will get significant late-season playing time. When you sign a Parade All-American quarterback, he is expected to be your starter of the future. I think Nick expects Russell to be the 2004 starter and will be giving him some game experience this year. Flynn is high-grade insurance against Russell turning out to be a head case or a flop (it has happened). But, I think Flynn will be groomed to back up Russell in 2004 and be an experienced starter if Russell excells and goes pro early.

I realize that Mauck and Randall have neither gotten a complete year of experience under their belts. I surely hope that one of them develops an arm and takes charge of the situation. Otherwise we may be seeing another talented, but inexerienced QB in the game, making all of the same rookie mistakes that we saw last year.

according to people that follow Jamarcus here in mobile, he is definitely the "REAL DEAL". In fact i have heard several sports radio guys that follow Jamarcus say, that if Russel isn't starting by mid season, then LSU has some awesome QB's, and the SEC has alot to worry about from LSU.

Another good thing about Russel going to LSU is that now they will actually have some coverage of LSU in the newspaper...In the past they would have a little article if any, the sports section in the Mobile Press sucks. Its like 7 pages (max), compared to the Advocate which has an awesome sports section, which is probably as thick as the entire Mobile Press's entire paper. But supposedly they are going to have someone cover Russel for the Mobile Press........so that will be nice..:D :D

GeauxScott, the Mobile sports section is good for nothing more than Kennel lining.

I liked the advocate article on frosh QBs. 1 thing that caught my eye was that it seemed to give a slant of it was expected that 1 of the 2 frosh would play alot this year.......i could be reading too much into it. Anyway, I don't think anyone in the LSU fan base (as if we count anyway) expects one of these guys to come in and contribute immediately. I expect nothing more than some mop-up duty from 1 or the other. I don't think anyone would consider either of these guys "busts" if they don't contribute big time this year.
