My only concern about JR is the "draw it up in the dirt and wing it" mentality. The kid never had decent coaching until he arrived at LSU. I watched him throughout HS and he was a man among boys but Williamson never did anything remarkable in the playoffs, always getting beat in the end by what was supposed to be a lesser team.

If J-Rock can grasp what the coaches are teaching and finally get the system down, he will be unstoppable. If not, he will be replaced. This is his year to make a difference especically with RP sitting on the sidelines chomping at the bit.

Leak may have been a 4 star but I believe he was either the number 1 or number 2 rated QB that year. Dont think Rivals had a 5 star QB when Leak was recruited. Jamarcus wasnt a 5 star either as I recall and was rated maybe 4 or 5 QB spots behind Leak.

Leak was pretty much the consensus number 2 QB in the country behind Kyle Wright, who most people had as one of the ten best players in the country.

Insiders had Wright number 1, Leak number 2 and JR #3 and all were rated as 5 stars. When Booty signed with USC in the summer all 3 of them moved down a notch and Booty was ranked #1. Tommy Grady of OU was ranked after JR as a 4 star and Lane was rated number 5 as a 4 star.

Leak's Freshman stats are very similar to the stats that Russell put up last season.

    BB....
I'm not saying Leak can't play, but Russell's numbers were not so bad for a guy playing his first year of college football who had to split time with another QB.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is why are people compairing Russell to Leak in terms of success when Leak with all his good stats has not taken Florida to a SEC Championship game? I just sometimes think Russell was graded a bit
hard in his first year of football when first he wasn't the full time starter and two, it's pretty hard for a freshman to have major success in the SEC.
BTW my post is not directed at anyone, most of the negitive things I saw about Russell has been from fans of other teams.
