All my A&M friends are pretty cool, we actually had a great time last year for the bowl game. Living in Houston I would not mind playing A&M every year, I would get to see one more game every other year. Just my two cents, I kind of like it.

No doubt and don't be surprised when FSU follows suit and joins also. I know they need the invite first but as said it's all about the money and how sick would that be to add those two schools for the SEC. Just laughs at the PAC 12 for adding Colorado and Utah! I like the SEC the way it is but this train is rolling we just have no choice but nut up and kick two more teams A**'s on the way to more titles!

Oh and somebody said drop Vandy, yeah gotcha nerd school but other than football they contribute in most other sports so that wont happen though I did remove them on EA's NCAA CFB 2012 I put them in the Big East.

The fan bases have NOTHING to do with this. If they did, there would be NO expansion for the SEC.
I'll use UF and F$U as an example, but it could apply to UGA and GT as well.

$$$-The SEC puts 8-9 teams in the BCS annually, and usually two in the BCS bowls. This is money for ALL the teams in the conference. The ACC does not do this, and therefore doesn't benefit from that extra $$$. UF doesn't want F$U to have access to even more $$$, equaling better facilities etc...

Currently, whether you wanna admit it or not, there ARE recruits that would choose school A over school B because school A is in the SEC. The SEC is currently the most dominant conference, winning BCSNCGs, CONSTANTLY in the press, (listen to any Sirius talk show on College Sports channel and see for yourself). Kids like publicity. This will have an effect.

    $$$-Yeah, it cannot be understated.

These teams are gonna play each other anyway on an annual basis. The SEC teams in these rivalries don't want the other side to benefit like this...and are gonna fight it.

My theory is based on TX going independent, and the Big 12 completely folding. It's a pretty solid theory, too. Because if aTm leaves, the conference is dead.

    Also, three words for you.

OU and OSU, IMO, are not as joined at the hip as many suggest.

The money is the ticket, for sure. But in this case, F$U is the one that benefits...moreso than the conference.

Agree, but again...the money. Fact is, nobody really cares about 'most other sports'...football is king. Main reason the SEC needs Vandy is it's academic excellence.

We will just disagree on that. No biggie. I just think for every sport, and not just football, it would be great for the SEC to have these states locked down. Yes $$$ is all important but with more schools going to bowls in football or post season in any sport doesn't that generate money for the conference?
