Whoever built that moat called the Rio Grande just flat out dropped the ball and forgot the gators. Correct this small flaw and the Texas border will be safe. Just make sure we use AMERICAN Gators and Crocs, none of that Nile or Aussie stuff.

We have laws now. It doesn't matter what happened then. This is now. Stop trying to complicate the issue. How can you possibly see what is going on and not be at least a little alarmed about the future of our country?

I'll say this, back then we didn't have near the social benefits that the mexicans are stealing from us now. Those people came here to help benefit our society. They mixed in with us. The mexicans come here, mooch off of our flawed social system, send their money back across the border, and, for the most part, refuse to mix with us.

I'm just giving a little historical perspective. We don't need to worry. It will all be ok.

That is actually a good point, until you consider that illegals contribute about as much to the economy as they consume. The deficit/surplus swings either way and estimates place it at (1.4) billion. The biggest peice of consumption be the illegals is by their kids in public schools, who by and large are American citizens, so we are really just funding the education of future taxpayers. Economically its all a wash and this big drain is alarmist rhetoric.

Why not just give them alittle money and bring their leaders to class and show them how to install welfare programs and benifits in Mexico.

First of all, their economy couldn't support such a thing. Secondly, it would be much better if we just stopped offering them. It solves the problem, doesn't it?

No. You are distorting history to advance your agenda.

    Bullcrap,

How the mexicans mooch off of our society with their stolen SSN's.....

    1) They live 20 to a rental house, paying no property taxes, and send their kids to public schools. They contribute nothing to the school system, except a child that will drag down other students.

    2) They receive free health care at local hospitals, the fees of which are passed down to us as higher medical bills and co-pays.

    3) The rental houses that they live in are most likely subsidized by Section Eight, a federal program that pays for low income housing, or one of many similar federal programs. Where do the feds get the money to pay for their housing? That's right, from my pocket.

    4) It cost taxpayers untold countless millions each year to pay for the border patrol agents to catch the illegals, build the facilities to house them once they are caught, and process them. If they would stop coming over, think of the money we could save. The senate has just approved the hiring of 20,000 more border patrol agents. 20,000 more federal employees.

    5) The majority of money earned by the illegals is sent back to mexico where it benefits their economy, not ours. We are funding our own invasion.

No taxes paid on cash purchases.....Most illegals are driving around in old trucks that they paid cash for under the table (No taxes paid on that one). Illegals don't have check books and debit cards. There is really no way to track their spending. They live 20 to a house in order to keep the cost down (More money to send back to the mother land). We (taxpayers) pay for the damn houses.

    6) Once their kids turn 21, they can start the process of bringing their entire imediate family and most of their extended family over the border legally in order to mooch off of the system even more.

I could go on and on. How can you possibly say, with a straight face, that these people contribute to our society and economy?

Illegal comprise 5% of the US work force. Significant, but not vital. We can prosper without them.

Yeah that will never happen because then it will turn into a Race issue and not an immigration issue.
