well i agree. however, i've tried to defend miles through everything. that being said his biggest most glaring indefensible move is not firing studwara and to a slightly lesser extent crowton.
i can almost live with crowton (almost) if stud was gone along withthe other changes that have already happened.
however, it won't matter how much better JJ is, if the line performs as it has over the last two (some may say 3) years. the running game will falter and crowton will rely on a pass happy offense that doesn't drain clock and doesn't move the chains and most importantly doesn't score. i'd even trade a little time of possession for some points. (one of my friends calls it the quick strike/no strike offense. :hihi
i'm waving the opinion flag here, but keeping stud and GC, will be horrific for Les. i think the defense gets better next year and so will JJ to some extent but i dont care if the jets' defense is on the field, they're gonna get gassed when they're offense can't put a drive together.
i don't care how good your skill positions are, a good OL can make up for almost anything and a bad one can erase any advantage.
look at bama (damn, did i just say that?) g-mac is serviceable because his line (who was supposed to be a weakeness with experience before the season started) gashes teams in the run game (refer to the sec cg) and allows him time to find and throw to receivers.
offensive balance wins games, it's something Les always touts but his teams lately hardly ever show. so if GC is the reason we look different than you intend Les, then isn't it time to show him the door??
of course there could be some behind the scenes stuff we don't know about. like let's say Les wants to fire crowton and the powers that be say "no it's too expensive right now" maybe they could bring someone in to basically call the plays in 2010 and reduce GC to a gameplanning QB coach. just saying. i'd feel better about that. wonder if BG will be in the booth in atlanta?? probably shouldn't get my hopes up.
