There’s been a lot of partisan back and forth about Russian interference in our electoral process. Both sides are trying to make political hay of the issue without seeing it as a fundamental threat. Make no mistake the Russians are our adversaries NOT our friends or at all neutral. They are using everything they can to weaken us and social media is their best tool. These two articles point that out and show how big the threat is. The first is an account of yesterday’s hearing into Russian targeting of BOTH sides in the election. One example was how they created two ads one for the right and one for the left to create a confrontation in Houston.
Eight Revealing Moments From the Second Day of Russia Hearings
    WIRED

Two hearings Wednesday revealed new details of how Russia used propaganda to divide and anger Americans. Read the full story

The second is a WSJ article noting prosecutors are considering bringing charges against 8 Russians for hacking the DNC. https://www.wsj.com/articles/prosecutors-consider-bringing-charges-in-dnc-hacking-case-1509618203

Fortunately serious people of both parties take the issue as critically important. Unfortunately the leaders of our social media community don’t.

Why is this a threat? Well it should be obvious it takes citizen’s voices out of the most important act we do as a country.

We need to take this seriously

And there's a BIG difference between working WITH the Russians versus getting information on somebody who did that.

@Winston1 honestly whose vote is influenced by what you read on facebook or twitter...and if they are so stupid to do so do we really want them deciding our election?

Social media has turned into an echo chamber and all you do is hear the things you agree.

I think it's a testament to how stupid the people in this country really are. So quick to believe any and everything they hear or read in their echo chamber.
