Disgrace is a bit strong if ya ask me, very dissapointing yes. Maybe, when we are back next season after CLM gets this ship righted, more will have a greater appreciation for the great seasons, rather than act like it is our right. Maybe more will show a greater respect for CLM, rather than continuing to ridicule him even when we are winning a MNC. Maybe more will stop taking their Tigers for granted, and show a greater respect for how hard it is for these players on the field.
Thanks for the reply and the support, my friend. You mentioned something about Miles' handling of the game Saturday. That surprises me a bit, since gameday coaching has been one of Miles' biggest strengths. LSUFanZone mentioned complacency and there might be something to that also. I've watched several LSU games this year, and since mid-season, I've seen a lack of the focus and intensity the team usually has, except in the Bama game. They played with fire the entire game then, but seemed to be just a little flat and unfocused in most of the other games.
How about a disappointing disgrace? lol. When you end the season without one quality win, a narrow escape by a sub-par team (in comparison to SEC caliber), and get your butt handed to you- all the while there's obviously mass confusion on the field and sidelines. Take your pick on the word you use- personally, my one word descriptor would be embarrassing.
I would never be embarrased or disgraced by my Tigers. To accept that this season was very disapointing, that the play on the field was way sub par to what are accustomed to, and that the team showed that they had been defeated (spiritually) weeks ago, yep I can say that. I do have complete faith that this was an off year and that CLM will have our team on top again next year.
I'm counting on it. With the talent returning and the class lining up for '09 I'm still optimistic about the future, just having a rough time with the current.
What I think is hilarious, is that LSU can end up in a New Year's Day bowl because the SEC is so horrible. If Kentucky loses tonight, the Outback Bowl will have the choice between a bunch of 7-5/6-6 teams. LSU could be one of them because of the name.
