Community coffee is high on the list. A dvd to watch in the room/apartment. Greeting cards always bring a smile to Julie and Justin. His diet isn't too restricted ... he's been nibbling on Popeye's and Taco Bell ... anything to get his appetite back. i'll get back with you guys on this. God bless you all. Joel aka gooup
What kind of dvds? I'm so glad to hear his diet isnt too restricted and that he has an appetite enough to eat some Popeyes! That's great news! One thing- and I'm sure the family is being helped by a dietitian, so you may already know- a good way to get some needed Protein is to use powdered egg whites in food or smoothies.
Also, if anyone is interested in learning more about bone marrow donation and the transplant process: http://www.marrow.org/ Consider becoming a potential bone marrow donor. If you are unable to donate marrow (it can involve a surgical proceedure), consider offering a monetary donation as every little bit helps. It can cost to join the bone marrow registry, depending on available resources. On average, the cost of tissue typing to add each new donor to our the registry is $52 (sometimes out of the donor's pocket). I did a lot of research on bone marrow donation and got involved years ago after reading an article in a magainze (I'm a sap!). I'm glad I went back to the site above, as I realized I need to get The Turtle typed. He worked in a few out-of-the-way locales at his past job that disqualified him for becoming a donor, but it seems that the rules have changed a bit. :thumb:
Re: For JayB A bunch of y'all have contacted me, so I know we're going to have an awesome gift package for JayB. :thumb: Please PM BigWee or any Team Katt member if you cant make it to the La Tech game and would like to send something via the mail. I have already done that, I have been registered as a blood marrow doner for over a year. I also donate blood on a regular basis, or at least I try too, sometimes I don't weigh enough. But I am currently working on my third gallon of blood.
