Not only did we have quite a few influential players in the game that Saban never coached (C. Black, Keiland, RJ Jackson...), but most of the other players have all grown immensly since Saban left. For instance look at JaMarcus, Bowe, Davis, & Doucet. None of these guys were that good in 04, Saban's final season. It was Miles & staff that has turned them all into first day draft picks.

Excellent point! Recruiting is only part of the equation........what the coaches do with them after that is even more important. :thumb:

I saw the PC and to summarize:

"Look what I did at LSU. If you fans will cut me some slack for a couple of years, I'll do it here too."

But, you love me and isn't that a nice consolation prize?:thumb:

what stood out to me in the press conference was how Saban kept referring to himself as "we". As in, "we" are going to see what assistants are out there, and "we" need to start recruiting i've heard of people talking about themselves in the third person, but never in "we" form. maybe he has multiple personalities or something.
i also liked when the miami reporter said ,"You once said the best way to disrespect someone is to just walk away, so that being said, do you think you disrespected the miami fans by leaving the way you did?"
saban had to dance on that one.
it kind of pissed me off when he said he never wanted to leave LSU, he put it all on Huizenga, saying practically he made me do it.
this is a total bi%ch move on Saban's part.

I thought it was great the way Saban put the blame on "the misfortunes of the season" for his record there. He acted like he was going to do the reasonable thing, and mention that there were some misfortunes and leave it at that, but no - not Saban. He had to list everything that went wrong to make sure people knew it couldn't possibly be his fault that they weren't winning.

I caught that, too. There was no way he was gonna leave LSU then all of a sudden on the morning of Christmas Eve, WH miraculously. I didn't know whether to laugh or gag.

What a jack ass he is. I bet he even thinks he could actually coach both teams (LSU and Bamma with his big ego) since those are his recurits. I am so sick of him and the media talking about him. I hope we beat the crap out of Bamma next season. :angryfire :po: :cuss:

Don’t forget that he also blamed the fans because we expected too much and had unrealistic goals that put too much pressure on him.

Yeah, I can definitely see why Bama was his 'dream job' then. Sounds like a perfect fit.
