1. Wow, I explained that it didn't make me an expert and that none of us were 100% correct here. I was just explaining that I did have some sort of football knowledge. I can't remember who it was, but someone called me out saying I had no idea of how to play the game of football. So that is how I responded. If that makes me wrong or "crooked" fine, it's just my opinion, I don't care if you respect my opinion or not . . . I thought that was what this board was for, sharing views and opinions of the LSU football team.

But anyway, I don't think JT would use a 2 QB system because the offense is based on the veer running attack. You do have to have a good option QB to run the it though. I also don't remember when JT called himself the "God of La HS football", so I don't know what to say about that. You may not like the man, or the school, I don't really care. I do have a great deal of respect for JT, and the style of football he coaches. There are plenty of well run programs on the HS level in La, and they all run different systems. I don't feel the need to bash them, they all have something to offer.
  2. Thanks, I'm just here like you guys because I do love LSU football. I'm probably older than the average poster, but I like this board because it keeps me connected to LSU. I can understand being pissed, I have just as high expectations as anyone else on this board, and we all want to see LSU win and perform to their best ability.

I just want posters to know that if I came off as cocky or trying to say I know more than someone else, that was not my intent at all. I've tried to make a point of saying all of this is subjective, just opinions. I think we all agree on that.
  3. LSUFan, I want to offer my appologies. I think this whole situation (Randall/Russell coupled with the tough loss) has everyone--myself in particular, on edge.

I'll admit, I'm NOT the best at accepting defeat. I think I took some of your comments wrongfully and for that, I'm sorry.

Funny how now that we have a proud program again, no one wants their own pride to take a hit.

Hope there aren't any hard feelings.
  4. No hard feelings at all. It's just a game, but I know how you feel. I was expecting much better, however this is football. Sometimes things just don't work out, and your game plan isn't good enough to win.

The thing is, I feel much more confident in LSU's program than I ever had before. I know we can rebound off of these tough losses, unlike in the past where they defined our seasons. LSU has always had good talent, La is one of the richest HS pools of talent in the nation, but now we have solid coaching to go along with it. I have no doubt that Saban and his staff will work all of this stuff out. We have a good program, losses will happen. But think about it, it's the first loss in the last 11 games. Not bad at all, and that one loss was by 1 pt against a top 15 team. LSU has plenty to look forward to this season.

My optimism comes from being out of town and not having the constant news and information all the time. Age might have a part as well, since when I was younger I was more of hot head and didn't handle losing as well as I do today.

I do know this, I wouldn't want to be MissSt next week. I'm sure they will see a much more prepared and focused team than AU saw this weekend. The real test will be GA and FL, and I feel we have a shot to beat them. GA is not playing great and FL is both hot and cold (scoring a ton of points, and giving up a ton as well).
  5. Wow, LSUFan, you live in LA???? UGH! Too many USC fans for my taste. I'm just glad that I live in Boston (I'd rather be in Baton Rouge...but....). Here in Boston, they don't take too kindly to LA teams. :)
  6. I keep seeing people say that we will be "throwing the season away" if we just start Russell the rest of the way. Where do you get off saying that that is throwing the season away? At this point Randall nor Russell is playing better than the other ( if I had to give an edge, it would be to Russell), so how is letting Russell play from here on out throwing any season away. In fact Russell was the one that scored two touchdowns for us against OSU, and maybe even the reason we won. Someone who had said this, please explain to me your reasoning.
  7. I can't stand any of the teams out here either, although I do go to Dodgers games. The SC thing is not that bad since the SC fans out here that I meet are not as rabid as SEC fans, believe it or not most don't care about the football team. When I wear my LSU hat or tshirts, it starts a lot of conversations, but mostly they are civil (nothing like you'd expect after reading their boards).

One of my friends that I met at LSU is now living in Boston and he loves it. We have the same problem though, living outside the SEC. The good thing is that I get plenty of LSU (and SEC) games on TV, so it better than nothing. Since I've moved I've only been able to make it to about 1 LSU game every 2 years, and I have to admit that is what I miss the most on Saturdays.

I work in Art Depts out here, and the last project I was working on had two guys from AU on it. We were going at each other every day this summer about this game, so I expect a few phone calls on Monday.
  8. Remember fellow Tiger fans...

one game does not a season make. Remember last year we lost a tough one to Fla at about the same time in the season. IMO that game turned LSU's season around. Believe me when I say no one was more disappointed with the loss to Aubarn than me (I have to replace some furniture now), but this may be the point where the team comprehends their situation and turns the corner as they did last season after the loss to Fla. I look forward to the game against Misery State to see the progress that Saban makes with these YOUNG players. I'll be there donned in purple and gold watching LSU whip their arses!!
