I didn't finish my thought there—mea culpa. That four games below .500 mark in conference play is over the last three seasons prior to this one. Three bad seasons. Does that qualify for your definition of "a few?"
Well if the NCCA does anything with the info that ESPN gave them , what do you think ?? I say if saban thinks there is a chance they will he is gone . The pay for play , would end bama's football program .
Part of the problem, too, beyond wins and losses, is how irrelevant UT has been the past 3 seasons, and how bad they lose to better teams. From a financial standpoint, imagine if Saban does announce in January he is leaving for UT. All the press that Bama currently gets will shift to UT. With their Longhorn Network, that means a sudden influx of viewers and sponsors. UT is one of the few places that could justify, and afford a 10mil salary, and actually make some of the revenue back up w/their network. Saban instantly does that, b/c he brings relevancy. Speculation about other possible replacements for Mack sure has been quiet lately, even after getting crushed yesterday. Wonder why that is?
Oh I dont know. Pat Forde did an article this week and quoted Terry as saying (and im paraphrasing) "bama better recognize" and he also said that it is clear to him that Terry "calls the shots" that nick handles football, everything else is Terry. What I read was there was clearly a power play for more money and if it was balked at then moving wasnt out of the question.
Basically Alabama just can't blow them, there has to some salad tossing and toy play involved as well. I bet he could make alot of them commit suicide if he wanted. He has turned into Alabama's Hirohito, pronounced (hee rō hee tō) in Alabama.
After he wins 7 NC's at Bama he may consider going elsewhere. But when you're considered the king.....why abdicate?
