The new AD in the mix definately makes the story more interesting. I still say Nicky stays put. But, stranger things have happened.
Mac Brown spends little time coaching and much time being the public relations guy of the football program. As the head coach he has Longhorn Network obligations and tea sipping with the big booster obligations. That is why he hires and fires coordinators when Texas sucks. They are the ones coaching the team. This isn't a Saban kind of situation.
But Saban would be able to do the dictating of schedule, not the other way around. Assistant coaches can do the Bonghorn Network stuff...
Sounds like the Sooners are beginning to prepare for the worst: @RabalaisAdv: #LSU announces 2018-19 home-and-home with #Oklahoma is being rescheduled for later dates.
For those wondering if Texas could possibly save their season and save Mack Brown's job (i.e., going at least 9-3, maybe even having to run the table at 10-2): My projections: @ West Virginia = W Oklahoma State = L Texas Tech = W @ Baylor = L The Baylor game could be to decide the conference. Which means they likely don't win the conference and go to a BCS bowl game. That means Mack Brown is done.
