Re: Zarqawi is dead... can we come home now?

    This is indeed good news.

Although, I have to jump in and play devil's advocate. We are not permitted to view the coffins landing at the air force base in maryland of slain U.S. troops, although it's totally ok to blow up pictures of dead Iraqis? Are they less human beings than us?

Like the link posted above, does seeing the picture dispel any notions of fabrications amongst the only people such a picture as "proof" would appeal to? Not likely? Matter of fact, i'm more inclined to believe it's merely another election year ploy because of the sensationlization of it all.

Of course. He was a murderous terrorist coward. He is FAR less of a human being than us.

This man was no soldier and had no honor to protect.

This is the best news since the arrest of Saadam

Publishing a picture of the dead terrorist was absolutely essential. Otherwise there are those who would have claimed that the announcement of his death was a lying plot by the United States. We had to show proof, just as we did for the sons of Saadam.

Although this is great news, it does have a downside.

al-Zarqawi did not become powerful until the internet feed of him cutting off the head of a hostage. Before that moment we never even knew his name.
This is the downside, all it is gonna take for someone else to step in front of the camera kill another hostage and boom he will be the new leader of the reisitance.

While it is good that there is one less ******* in the world, its only a matter of time before another ******* is taking his place.
