Not 1/2 as crazy as many have proved to be... Just sit back and enjoy it all, ya hear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Never said we'd lose; just said "not so fast". The personnel of both teams are different than 2003 so it's not relative to what's going on THIS season. Texas Tech is a free-wheeling offense that still has to be respected; just like Stanford and Oklahoma State. What separates OU from them is that they can play defense (and actually were earlier this season though my impression of them is primarily an offensive machine). Alabama exposed LSU's one flaw: QB. If it ever comes to a shootout (ie., the other team is actually scoring) I have little faith in us being able to keep pace. An just because it hasn't yet been done means something but not everything. While AL has an awesome team they, too, suffer with a mediocre playing QB so I did not expect "fireworks" other than what we saw: screens, quick passes, wheel routes all set up from a solid running game that we prepared like Hades to shut down. Saban had a gr8 strategy but mistakes and LSU being able to capitalize on them (even though we did not turn them into TDs) sealed the deal. Great game. I think Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State; Stanford will probably beat Oregon; Boise will be Boise. Alabama sweeps the rest of her games and we've got to be careful of Arkansas. It all looks GOOD to me. Oh I understand what you are saying and totally agree. BUT I think this LSU team is an exception to the rule. I think it is more probable to think that Stanford could lose also, they have a tough schedule left. I am hoping we get to play Mr. Heisman Andrew Luck. Some of what I was referring too does date back to when SEC plays the Big 12 but I have also considered both LSU and Alabama, lets face it, those are the two best teams in the country defensively. Always a chance one of em slips up if they don't play their A games especially for the reasons you say BUT I don't see that happening with LSU this year BUT I may be proven wrong.
That's what I'm hoping for as well. They have ZERO chance to win against LSU in the superdome....er, the mercedes-benz Superdome.
For the weeks leading up to the game , I got the feeling on here that lsu would have a hard time overcoming bad officiating in T-town. I watched the game in a bar with no sound, So it was hard for me to get a feel on how the game was being called. Was the officiating fair?@
Pretty fair. The old complaint about SEC officiating was that they tended to favor the team that was in contention for a national championship. With both of these teams in contention that motive, even if unintentional, was gone. In the early years of the instant replay official, that official tended to be kind of a homer, but the SEC has tighten up considerably on that. The replay officials last year and this year were much better than before.
IMO Yes, there were a few plays that there could have been late hits, helmet to helmet hits and Lee did get speared once, and no whistles.....but after the no call on the TM7 play, I figured the refs game plan was to let these 2 go, let these 2 play ball and hit hard. They stuck to it and stayed consistent. Now, you will hear a completely different point of view from a Bama fan They were on point
