There is a limit to how many people you can take in one class, which we are pushing the limit of. Plus we told Lee he'd be the only QB we recruit.

There's no reason to think RP will be off the team next year right now.

There is a 25 scholarship limit per year. LSU is at 23 commits with possibly another 4 or 5 looking to commit. That puts LSU over the theoretical limit. Some might greyshirt or not qualify academically so this is standard. Plus, LSU has would have 3 scholarship QBs,which is the number you want.

This is true, I'm not stupid when it comes to recruiting, everyone knows there is a limit....all I'm saying is how many teams completely fill up recruits and leave off another stud QB? (I'm just stated facts not what will happen!)

Lots of them, when they only need 1 QB in the class.

Can't have too many bulls in the pasture man- ask Mac Brown. Another qb is the LAST thing we need right now. :thumb:

Actually hope that Marve sticks with the Tide. I saw his recruiting vid and was impressed. He's got a good arm, great scrambling skills (what he'll definately need here! lol) and pretty good vision!

LSU only needs Lee this year and another stud QB next year. Taking 2 this year could hurt LSU's chances at landing a 5-star QB next year.

OK, let's clear this up a bit...

After Marve's visit on campus last weekend he said the first thing he wanted to do was to meet with Saban. He went on to say that Saban didn't promise him anything...Saban had told him that "he's our guy at QB" and the offense will be a lot like what LSU ran last season...scheme wise.

He's visiting Miami and Hawaii for his last two visits. The other schools he considered since Shula was fired are LSU, Florida State, Cal, Oklahoma and South Florida.

    Here's a quote from Marve:

Blown away by the facilities at Miami, a school that hasn't hired an OC yet, have they? Can't see that happening.

Hawaii...IF I were a QB I would be tempted to look at that situation seriously. It wouldn't a situation where I could expect to win big, or compete for an NC, but it would definitely showcase my passing.

Personally, I'm thinking it's a nice little weekend vacation for a HS kid.

We'll know what his intentions are, and should know fairly soon. Alabama will sign a QB this spring, Marve knows that, and if he sits on this situation to long? Yes, we'll start looking at other possibilities.

The hypothesis out there that "Saban's magic is gone" or that he won't make the impact on the recruiting trail he did...well, as much as our rivals would like to think that, it's just not the case.

    As exampled just yesterday...

Coach Lance Thompson made contact with the Baton Rouge-Southern Lab, LA linebacker Earl Patin. He wasn't even on our scope, we are late in the game, but he said after he was contacted that his top three are LSU, Alabama and Miami.

Recruiting is a fluid situation. With Patin, he's been camping at LSU since the 9th grade. So, he's seen the LSU program under Saban and under Miles. Pulling him out of state would be a surprise to me. However, he is scheduled to visit on the 26th.

You shouldn't be surprised, his only offers are out of state...but if you get him, you're getting a good one. For some reason he doesn't fit what Pelini wants in a LB, but make no mistake he has good atleticism and instincts.

From what he and his high school coach have said he's shown intrest in Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Memphis, Ole Miss and LSU,W. Va, Miami, and Nebraska.

Those in bold are the ones, after a bit of research this morning, are the ones I understand have officially offered.

His size does fit the type of players Saban uses...ILB, would be my first guess...

He's reporting a 3.2 GPS and an ACT of 22. I mention that for one reason...in the LB position, it's about pursuit angles...takes the ability to learn that to be effective. (not discounting instinct to get to the ball, mind you)

On another note...was LaMarcus Williams on your recruiting board?
