i dunno why gay behavior is hated any more than anything else that is disgusting. who cares. if my kid saw a gay book, i would just say: "yeah son, gays are weird, they like dudes, isnt that nuts? take a look at that bitch over there's ass. aww **** that is hot, right son?" and he would say "yeah damn, what is up with gays, oh well, more hoochies for me i guess".

Well, you can't shelter your kids forever, Sourdough. Gays are 10% of the population and they ain't going anywhere. Isn't it better that parents teach their children what they need to know early in life and promote whatever values they want to. Then parents don't have to worry about kids finding out something in the library that surprises them. Kids will have to know that gays exist at some point in their upbringing and learn how to deal with them. These activist legislators aren't going to make gays go away by making references to them disappear from books. It's a childish notion. And it is censorship. I understand what you are saying, of course. I just think it's a matter of balance. A book called "How to choose your sexual preference" may be inapproriate for children and should not be included in children's libraries. But banning ordinary books written by gay authors seems over the line and rewriting history to remove gay historical figures makes no sense to me.
