Well, I think he is talking about all the other festivities to do before and after the game...He strayed off the path pretty good though. But seriously, we know how to tailgate. Numerous big companies have trailers (car trailers...) converted into smokers and they grill out like crazy. Ribs are the number one thing! Also, BUD LIGHT is consumed in large quantities. It's a good place to tailgate and the bigger the game--the better. As far as Bamatide's bar review...Gallettes sucks dont go there. Houndstooth is going to be the most crowded, but the most laid back and the more "mature" crowd goes there. You can talk football with any fan and feel at home there. I would suggest checking it out some before and maybe after. That's really the only bar I like to go to. Also, Rythm and Brews downtown is more mature but 4th and 23rd lets 19+ in so it's a bunch of immature folks and a lot of guys on roids. They have a lot of fights. Bottom line, if ya go to a bar, go to the Tooth.
Yeah, yall need to calm down. I basically meant that you need to go to the 'tooth if you want to hit some bars. I didn't really mean "tailgate" but instead what you should do before the game. Going to a place like the 'tooth is more fun than sitting in a parking lot. The 'tooth has plenty of alcohol, a bbq joint right next to it (big bad wolf), and there's just a lot more going on there than the parking lots where the old folk tailgate. As for my fellow Bama fan's review of the bars, I'm guessing by the attitude of his post that he is an older person who isn't into the wilder side of the bar scene. I'm a younger guy who just left the capstone so I like places like Gallette's, 4th and 23rd, The Booth and so on. There are more people there, a younger crowd, a more "energetic" crowd. Rhythm and Brews is for older people who just like to chill and the 'tooth is too but it's just such a great bar that it's fun for everyone. Innisfree is a mix, a lot of younger people go there but also a more "mature" or older crowd goes there as well. So basically, if you're a student at LSU or just want to get sh*tfaced and party your @$$ off then go to Gallette's, The Booth (right next to Gallette's) or 4th and 23rd...if you're the older type, just feel like chillin and havin a few drinks then head to the Houndstooth or Rhythm and Brews. If you are strictly there to tailgate, I love it as well and will be doing it at my buddy's place on Bryant, then you'll most likely be doing it in some parking lot. I just don't have that much fun tailgating on road trips because it's usually in a crappy spot, which is why I suggested yall just hit the bars, they're close to the stadium.
I guess I am still not getting it. Big companies bring their smokers, ok, but you are missing the point. It isn't that big of a deal to have a smoker on a trailer that you can haul around. Get to the stadium the day before a game, start cookin' and making friends. If you are short on time, get there in the morning and cook it up cowboy style. Heck, just bring cold cuts from home, but it has to be your tailgate. It has nothing to do with attending a venue; it is about creating an event. Buy your memories if you want, I'll make my own.
what's with that impossible to read, one paragraph crap? mix in a space bar and an enter key once in awhile.
Want to build your own house and car also? C'mon dude, nothing wrong with making a trailer and bringing it to BD and having some ribs. Others do it out of their trucks also...It's all the same. Oh and BamaTide, im 22...I love to party my ass off but not in Gallette's and the Booth--they are a little too Fratastic for me. I used to work for Budwieser also, so im pretty tight with the Houndstooth crew, and I graduated with the owner of R&B (yeah he's 22!) so I tend to go there. All my friends like 4th but it's always crowded as hell and the doorguys are dicks (I never pay cover anywhere but there). I also like Cheap Shots and Jupiter is ok sometimes when they have a big time act...
We're still looking for tickets but plan to tailgate in the quad in front of Bidgood Hall near the mound. Don't ask me where that is because I have no clue. I'm just relaying the information.
You're a real nerd buddy. Who are you anyways, the creator of tailgating? How come your style of tailgating is the only one that is "real" tailgating? I personally go to my buddy's house on Bryant a couple hours before every home game. He has a nice size house right in the middle of the action, about a 5 minute walk to the stadium. We watch the fans of both teams walk by and watch cars go up and down the street with their flags and stickers are on their cars, it's a great atmosphere. We have the CD player playing Bama cheers on repeat and we put on Rammer Jammer and belt it out every time an opposing fan walks by. He has 4 tv's set up in his den where we keep track of all the other games of the day. He always has a free keg and an amazing spread of food including bbq, hot dogs, hamburgers, and all sorts of sides and casseroles. We throw the football on the sidewalk and talk about how we see the game going. We all eat Bama Bombs before every game for good luck. Bama Bombs are cherries soaked in pure grain alcohol for several months, then are enjoyed in the fall. They taste like pure gasoline but we eat them for luck and because one cherry has quite a kick. This is how we tailgate and as far as I'm concerned, it's the best way to tailgate. We've got a nice house in a great location, several tv's to watch football, plenty of food and alcohol, music...what else do we need? You don't have to sit in a boring parking lot with only your car stereo and possibly a small tv that gets crappy reception for it to be tailgating. But you are an Auburn fan so I don't really expect you to understand this concept, yall are the ones who call a crummy pharmacy and rolling a tree with toilet paper tradition. barner.
