Didn't think it was possible to shut down the Indy offense this time around. But he is Bill Belichick after all. Super Bowl #3 in 4 years coming up. Pitt is too vulnerable.
I love how everybody and there momma was saying how Peyton and that offense was gonna destroy the secondary of the pats....how more wrong could they been....wow the pats and the steelers game...I imagine thats gonna be one of the most physical games this year.
They did pretty well, as did Faulk. I cant believe all of the people who said they didnt have a prayer. two people do not make a team. The Patriots stress team work and that is exactly how they won.
Pretty amazing team defense, the stupid kicker fired them up even more. Indy dropped half a dozen passes, but it would not have made any difference. Looking forward to the AFC championship game...you may think they are vulnerable, but people thought NE's DBs were vulnerable too. Pittsburgh overcomes their QB's inexperience by playing as a team..just the way NE overcomes their 'weakness'. Pitt has the best defense and the best running game in the AFC - that is a stout combination to overcome.
Saban learned from the master. If Belichick isn't the best defensive mind the pro game has seen, I don't know who is/was. I would imagine he's got a few surprises up his sleeve for the rookie Steelers QB.
I think Buddy Ryan could have given him a run for that title. Ryan revolutionized defenses with his blitz packages.
The Steelers didn't have just the best defense in the AFC, but the entire NFL. Total Defense = 1st (258yds/game) Scoring Defense = 1st (15.7 pts/game) Rush Defense = 1st (81yds/game) Pass Defense = 4th (177yds/game) Should be a heck of a game next Sunday.
Wasn't the 46 a gimmick defense? I know the Bears used it when they won their Super Bowl, but it faded after that. Ryan was good, but IMO Bellichick is heads and shoulders above him.
