People like you will never be pleased... Miles had a sh*tty game of coaching. Name me a coach that has NEVER been outcoached before? And don't you dare say Saban because while I'll admit that I rarely saw him get outcoached while he was in Baton Rouge, I certainly saw him get outcoached at Michigan State...by Gerry DiNardo no less in the Indy Bowl. I'm just as angry at losing the game as anyone else and especially upset knowing that we primarily lost this one because of coaching lapses, but you, my friend, need to get off your high horse. Fire him?!?!?! Already?!?! After TWO GAMES?!?!?!?!?! You're pathetic. Really you are. And once it's out that LSU fans won't support anyone who loses a game, how many guys you think are going to want to take this job? Trying to please a guy like you is like trying to walk on water. Did you HONESTLY think LSU! would go undefeated this year?!?!?! If you did, man you're clueless! Just because the national media talks about our toughest games of the year being played in Tiger Stadium doesn't automatically grant us the "W". We lost a game in '03 remember??? And that one wasn't against a top 10 team either. Does Miles and Co. need improvements? Absolutely. If every game from here on out (coaching wise) resembles Monday night, then, yes, Miles will be in deep water and unlikely to recover. All this talk about "yeah but Saban left him all this talent" is BS. Some "experts" heading into the season STILL picked Tennessee to win the SEC, and for us to win the West--which we can STILL do. You don't thin Michigan has talent? They started the year ranked 3rd! If you were a Michigan fan, I bet you would be throwing bricks through Lloyd Carr's living room window and setting his lawn on fire. Those that want to freak'n whine and cry like a bunch of baby girls and call for this guys job already need to grow up! We started the season 6th! That means that the pollsters saw fit to name 5 OTHER teams that they felt were BETTER than us. Tennessee was ONE of those teams. So quit your bitch'n about wanting this guy fired. People want to talk about lossing recruits because of the Tenn. game? We're not going to lose recruits over that. Two top 10 teams went into OT and lost. You want to chase a recruit away? Let him hear or read about how all of the LSU fans are absolutely never satisfied and how we jump and call for the head coach to get fired when he loses a game. Who in their right mind, would want to come to a school knowing that your coach might be gone before your 4 years are up because of a-holes putting "for sale" signs in his front yard following a loss, or always saying that he needs to be fired???? You want good coaches? You want good recruits??? BE SUPPORTIVE FOR A CHANGE! CREATE a POSTIVE environment that is welcoming to those people that are going to come here and try to help us maintain football prominence. That's all I have to say....
These stats don't disprove what BostonBengal said. You are displaying an entire season of work (Top 25 competition and cupcakes), and comparing that with two games (TWO GAMES!) against Top 15 teams. Of course they are going to be skewed. If you want to have a better argument, show the stats LSU had last year only against Georgia, Florida, and Auburn. That would be a more accurate comparison.
Hey... I just wanted to point something out... Just one thing real quick... Those stats are for a WHOLE YEAR ..... The stats in the initial post of this thread are for TWO GAMES .... Anyways, I will let you get back to padding your lackluster ego.
tulane was rated #1 defensively in the country last week. end of idiotic statistics discussion. thank you.
As much as I hate to admit it, I actually agree. Look at our coaches in the 3 major sports. Really eye opening. At least it is to me. I hope Smiles makes me regrets saying this, but I don't see it happening. And we all know how reluctant Skip is to pull the plug on someone.
I hate to admit as well, b/c I love skip as a coach, but his hiring practices as ad has been suspect at best.
