i watched the cowboys-redskins game the other night and couldn't believe how many former lsu players are starters on those 2 teams! some other louisiana universities were represented, too.

Regardless on how you think he's played this year, Reid will still be a first round pick. I agree on the others, though I could see a Minter going mid 2nd.

Which is why I wouldn't see losing Loston or Simon as such a big hole to fill. Minter, however, I'd hate to see leave. He's had a huge impact already but I look for him to get even better/smarter. And maybe I'm being too harsh on Simon, he does get a lot of INT's.

Just my opinion, but Loston has arrived as of late. He made some big hits and is tackling much much better. If he does stay, we will be a valuable player next year.

Yeah, I hafta agree. I guess he was so hyped when we first got him that I was unreasonably expecting LaRon-like play out of the gate. But you're right about coming on as of late. I've seen him in plays more.

Loston's INT's were more about him being in the right place at the right time, for the most part. He gets beat quite often, and somewhat easily by experienced receivers. He always seems to be out of position.

Well for most of his career, he strikingly went for the big play. I would say this was all due to youth and immaturity.

For whatever reason, these last 4 games he has been in position to make plays and has. He is actually wrapping up now... Maybe his light came on and understands the concept of being a safety rather than a bruiser.

But boy can he still bring the pain.

Anyway, being in the right place at the right time is all about being a safety!!

Same could be said for Bama coming into this year and look where they are. I think we get a big early season boost if we can play like LSU to start out the year in 2013 vs. TCU. When will have lots of holes to fill on D, much like Bama, and will be returning nearly everyone on offense. Heck, Bama lost it's best, by far, offensive weapon. That won't be the case for us. Hopefully we can come out the gate with a nationally-televised opening day extravaganza like Bama this year, and like us in 2011, and ride that momentum through the year. I think we'll be right there at the end of the year again next year. Gotta continue improving on offense, though. Mett's growth will be key. Along with that of the wide outs.

I haven't seen 1 mock draft, or any draft experts with Eric Reid projected in their first round.

Personally I do not see Loston and Simon being drafted yet. I'm hoping minter stays his senior year. Reid is still a question mark in my mind, and if one of the two big de's could stay for a run at a title next year, offense should be as good as it has been in a long long time that makes for a lot of incentive to come back.
