Exactly, if Hawaii can be aggressive in play-calling, that gives UGA all the right to call whatever they want. As long as it isn't something they normally wouldn't do, like a fake FG/punt, unless they really want to send a message. Another thing about Hawaii, is that I think they are about as good as they have been the past few years when they didn't go undefeated. They just happened to play a much weaker schedule this year and won all their games. Good for them. But this isn't like last years Fiesta Bowl. UGA is better than OU of last year, and Hawaii is worse than BSU. Hawaii's O & D lines got absolutely destroyed. Even Tulane put up a better fight against us in the same stadium.
Hawaii laid down like a french whore, and showed why it should have never even been in this game. It kind of reminds me of putting OSU in the NC game- yeah, they have the record, but didn't really play anybody and everybody knows both teams shouldn't have been rewarded with their bowl games.
I am glad the SEC won. I like the idea of letting non BCS teams have a chance – but a couple of more beat downs like this one and that will change. Richt has been whining since the last few games of the season. The stunt he pulled with the entire team running onto the field to celebrate a touchdown, the complaining about not being in the NC game. He couldn’t get his team ready early enough in the season and consistently enough in the season to win the SEC East but he (and they) thinks they belong in the NC game. That is nothing but BS and he knows it. Richt’s biggest problem seems to be he can’t get his teams into the NC game. They end up in the top 10 every year, but he just can’t get over that NC hill. His complaining about it makes him look even worse. Next year should be their year with the talent they have coming back. If they don’t get into the NC game next year, Richt may never be able to get them there. He and Georgia will be like LSU in the 60’s and 70’s - very good teams with lots of talent, just never a national contender. ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
I went to the game. It was pretty cool to see the Hawaii pre-game dance thing in person. Left at half time. Let all of these other teams complain about not getting their "shot". It's the best argument for a playoff. I'd rather be in our shoes right now though. No matter how much they cry, nothings changing.
MY thoughts on this game--- 1)Hawai'i WASN'T a good match for a second string SEC team...UGA had the second string in EARLY in the 4th. 2)Hit in the beginning was DIRTY...and the same guy had several penalties in the game...and WAS dealt with bu UGA...as he had his helmet removed at least 3 times. 3)Richt challenge was correct, and resulted in UGA getting the ball...turnover on downs...NECESSARY. 4)Richt always has that evil smug...kinda like "Chucky". 5)It's FOOTBALL, and the 3rd stringers were in at the end. 6)Rose and Sugar sucked BIG TIME!:cuss: 7)We WILL provide a better show next week.:thumb:
You are so right. But the media is saying USC should be #1 in the AP poll next week no matter who wins the BCS NCG.......ESPN is pushing it. Just like 2003......................
You mean the same AP that jumped LSU 5 spots so they could play for the NC? The won't do it. If they wanted to do it they would have voted them #2 at that point. If they do it now they lose what little relevance they have. The winner of the BCSNC will be #1 in both polls. ESPN can cry all they want.
Heard the same while driving to work on ESPN radio. Lou 'spit' H. wants media to vote USC as #1 and used 2003 as an argument that it has been done once to correct BCS so it surely can be done again. I hope we don't hear about USuck dynasty of 3 'ships in 5 years. :geaux:
Why not UGA? Or Va Tech for that matter. There are too many teams that will have an argument. I can't see the AP voting USC above those teams. Especially the way UGA romped Hawai'i. Hopefully Va Tech will blow out Kansas and then there is absolutely no way the AP will vote USC ahead of them.
Argument used by Lou for UGA : Well.. they didn't really win their division but then he goes on to list following teams as top 4 (irrespective of what happens in BCS 'ship game) (1) USuck (2) Okalahoma (3) UGA (4) aOSU He didn't care after first 4 as he said it doesn't really matter after that . Some one needs to send oxygen supply to the old man.
