That's pretty rich. Guess he forgot OSU won their conference. Happens at that age.

And USC had the same conference record as Arizona State, so technically they are co-champions. How can anyone be co-champions of their own conference and be national champs?

That means you are looking for rational reasoning? :yelwink2: I have stopped doing that after 2003.

Man, this is nothing new. It wouldn't matter if it was the Tigers, Buckeyes or whomever in the NCG. USC is the media "darlings"...taking into acct that most of the big media outlets HQ,s are in NY or LA, What do you expect. Most of those folks think everyone in the south lives in mobile homes, has 3 or 4 coon hounds on the porch and usually are the product of some sort of incestuous union. Just shows them for the idiots they are. Quite frankly, if the State of NY had a good CFB team. They'd be yelling from the rooftops over there too.

Both Ohio State and Iowa were 8-0 in conference in 2002... with tOSU going on to beat Miami in the NC game... so it can happen.
Doesn't make it right... just makes it fact:) !

What I find totally absurd in all this talking head junk talk is they keep saying they want a playoff – let the teams decide it on the field. Well if we did that this year where would Georgia, Florida and Michigan be in the playoff. They were not even in the top two teams in their respective conferences. We do away with the bowls and have a playoff – Georgia and Florida are sitting home for the holidays without even a chance to play.

If we have a playoff after the season, who makes the cut? Remember you are taking the human element out so you forget the polls - go with reuslts. The playoff will do away with the BCS so you take the conference champions from all the Division I conferences – but some conferences have two divisions and championship games, some don’t. So lets take the top two teams from each Division I conference and the top independent (remember – we take out the human element and let the teams decide it on the field) -
Here is our playoff roster for this year –

    SEC – LSU
    SEC - Tennessee
    ACC – Virginia Tech
    ACC - BC
    Big East – West Virginia
    Big East - Connecticut
    Big Ten – Ohio State
    Big Ten - Illinois
    Big 12 – Oklahoma
    Big 12 - Missouri
    Pac 10 – USC
    Pac 10 – Arizona State
    Mountain West – BYU
    Mountain West – Air Force
    C-USA – Central Florida
    C-USA - Tulsa
    WAC – Hawaii
    WAC – Boise State
    Mid-America – Central Michigan
Mid – America – Bowling Green
    Sun Belt – Troy
    Sun Belt – Florida Atlantic
    Independent – Navy
    Independent – Western Kentucky

I know that some of these teams have beaten some of the others, but that is the way it happens in basketball, so why not here. You’ll notice we miss some familiar names – Texas, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Auburn, Georgia, etc. Leave out the WAC, C-USA, Mountain West, Sun Belt and the Independents you say? What happens when a Boise State, a Southern Miss or a Notre Dame are back on their game? These are Division I teams and all are eligible to be NC so you have to give them a chance.

Just be careful what you ask for. What would happen in this playoff if a few big name teams had a bad game, and lets say a Florida Atlantic or a Navy put together four good games???

I’ll stick with the BCS thank you.

I went to the game last night and I have to tell you, the Hawaii fans are incredibly nice. We had a few sitting in front of us and they gave us one of those big leaves (I don't know what they're called). Every Hawaii fan I came in contact with was very nice and respectful and told me that they'd be pulling for LSU. Hell, at one point, an L-S-U chant broke out amongst the crowd and the Hawaii people around us joined in. The UGA fans had a "what the hell?" kind of response. In short, the Hawaii fans are very classy.

On the other end, the UGA fans kind of sucked. One guy told my girlfriend that he would be pulling for LSU and had SEC pride and all that mumbo jumbo, then as he walked away he turned around and screamed "I will never f--king pull for LSU. F--k LSU."

We also got a few comments like "Oh, I forgot that LSU was playing today." (which is to be expected), to which one LSU fan responded "I'm just here testing out the food so I know what to get next week at the national championship game." Some UGA fans had on shirts (pictures to come later) that said something along the lines of "Jumped by Les's Losers, BCS is a sham (something something) even though we have the same record. It's all just bull.", thus effectively making them look like crybabies. The fans were kind of mean to the Hawaii people, too, but I don't have any specific stories, other than the "overrated" chant.

It's pretty simple. They cannot hold their liquor. One guy just slept the whole game. Pre-game included.

The AP has nothing to do with which teams play in the NCG...The BCS formula consists of 2/3 human polls (Coaches and Harris) and 1/3 Computer polls...Which means that the media had nothing to do with LSU and OSU being in the championship game.:LSU231:

My bad, didn't mean to word it like that. I know the AP dropped from the BCS. I guess my point was that they jumped us to #2 just like the Harris and Coaches.
