i call bs on that. its not real difficult to get 6 wr's some playing time. obviously he's not 100% according to everyone who had witnessed him running in the spring practices. he will likely never regain his speed due to his horrible injuries. just likely physically impossible. but next year he almost assures himself of being a starter here if he shows even a glimpse of what he was pre-injury. most all LSU fans were anxiously awaiting to see him in the mix this year yet now it was inevitable he had to leave? i think he used bad judgment all around based on the info I see.
In the article, it says he will sit out this year, then have three years of eligibility remaning ??? This was his third year at LSU - Redshirt Soph. Did the NCAA Gestapo grant him a sixth year ? If so, I think he deserves it - but I thought you had to apply after your fifth year.
I'm guessing you meant to add a wink here but maybe not. At any rate, I respectfully disagree. Good talent doesn't necessarily waste on the bench. Everybody makes their contribution, one way or the other. It's a team sport. Takes lots of bodies. Important injuries we've seen in the last 10 days should illustrate the point. Can't say I have any hard feelings to anyone who wants to tranfser for any reason. Simply, I don't figure I know the whole story on any transfer. But the importance of good benchwarmers can never be over-emphasized. I know. Warmed a few. And I felt I was important at the time.
So should he have left? I don't think he shouldve. he wouldve played some. And possibly even started next year. So all in all, maybe a not-so-wise decision.
He's aparently trying find an explanation for leaving that doesn't sound like "I was the sixth-best receiver and a true freshman was about to pass me". He never caught a pass at LSU. How could he expect to leapfrog Davis, Bowe, Green, Carter, Doucet? Even Brazell caught some passes in his limited playing time. Hill made a good career decision. He wasn't going to get any playing time here and the emergence of LaFell was the last straw. I don't think Les Miles came in here with any biases about players, though. Hill needs to be more careful what he says publicly. His injury set him back too far to catch up here. Coach knew it and Amp knew it too. Now the leg can heal another year and he still has two years of eligibility to try to make an NFL prospect out of himself.
