Please. Let the loser play Boise State.

This is how it is going to work out.

LSU will beat bama ... then somehow, miraculously, through refs maybe, Georgia will beat LSU in the SEC CG. ... from there they vault Bama back up to #2, and OU will be #1. ....

.. That way they get their Bama-OU matchup they've been dreaming about all year.

Somehow .. someway .. the powers that be will have their Bama/OU match up in the NCG.

Assuming all goes right I see it like this ...
    #1 LSU
    #2 Oklahoma State
    #3 Alabama
    #4 Stanford
    #5 Boise State
    #6 Oklahoma
    #7 Arkansas
    #8 Oregon
    #9 Clemson
    #10 Houston

Ol Ed the numbers guy on ESPN .. said the only way we get a rematch is if Bama wins. LSU has the power to bounce back, provided Okie State and Stanford lose [which is likely] .. but Bama does not. He said if Bama loses on their homefield, it's over for them. If they can't win at home, they aren't expected to do any better somewhere else.

Kind of a unique twist on that "home field advantage" people keep talking about .. it's only an advantage for Bama if they win .. if they lose, they are out!!

Yeah the more I have thought about it, the more I agree that Bama has no chance at a rematch being that they would have lost to us at home.

LSU #1 and Bama #2 in the human polls is big as well. Easier to drop LSU to just 3 or 4 vs Bama falling to at least 5 and maybe even 6.

The way I see this possibly happening... Ok st, and Stanford take a loss... IF the loser of the Bama/LSU game loses by a small amount, then there could be a rematch, because I see a 1 loss SEC team in that situation, going in over Boise. If the loss is somewhere in the DD's it will prob be Boise at 2, and loser of this week at 3.

I'm a firm believe that the "powers-that-be", whomever they may be ;) , don't want to see Oregon return to the NC game if it is against LSU or probably even an SEC team. Oregon had their chances, and I don't see them getting there this year, UNLESS LSU/BAMA, OU and Okie St. lose 2 games. At least 3 of them would have to lose 2 games for that to happen. I could be wrong, but I see them all staying ahead of Oregon if they are a one loss team. OSU stays there (assuming the lone loss to OU) because the computers just absolutely love Okie St.

    Where am I wrong?

I got a 12-1 Oregon getting in over an 11-1 Okie State, if they lose in the last weekend to OU. I also have them getting in over an 11-1 OU. The computer polls will come back to help Oregon the rest of the season, and they will remain ahead of OU in the human polls with an extra win on their resume. Arizona State needs to win out to give Oregon a top 10 opponent the same weekend OU plays Okie State.

If I had to pick the BCS CG right now, I think it's LSU vs Oregon.

Oregon beats Stanford to take them out and OU takes out Okie State.

I don't know Izzy .... If OU faces an undefeated Okie State that is ranked #2 in the nation ... I think that catepults OU above Oregon ... especially in the Human Polls. I mean .. the Human polls had OU at #1 in the beginning. I don't think that luv is gone .. they just can't justify ranking them above an undefeated Stanford, Bama, LSU .. and to a lessor extent, Boise at this time. By logic ... AR should be ranked above OU based on the quality of their loss, but they aren't.

You KNOW that the media will lobby hard for OU to be in the Game if there is only one top tier undefeated team left. The spin will be ... "look at who they beat" ... not "look at who beat them".

you'll start to hear "body of work" at year's end

and that includes WHO you lost to

Oregon lost to #1 LSU on a neutral field
Oklahoma lost to un-ranked Tech at home

That vs Oregon having already lost to LSU will be the arguments.
