I don't even know where to start with this post. I know a good psychotherapist if you are in the DFW area...
I thought it was a great article and I appreciate Mandel taking time to give the Alabama program some positive exposure. BTW, did you guys see the article on DJ Hall on Espn.com? It is great to see him finally get some love from the media. I hope Coach Saban continues to settle in his new home in Tuscaloosa.
I think much more is made of LSU fans "hateing" saban in the media and rival fans boards than actually exists. Anyway I just don't see it or come across it much anymore. Being that he is LSU's ex coach he is going to be more than just another coach to LSU fans. But I think that Alabama fans are going to find out that the SEC is filled with top flight coaches and saban may be one of them but he is not the only one by a long shot (it seems bama fans don't realize this right now and think saban is somehow special)
You do know that Saban took a pay cut in coming to Bama right? He was getting 4.5 million a year at Miami, only 4 million a year at Bama. He admits going to the college game was a mistake, i bet if the LSU job was open he would have gone there, it just didn't work out that way. He just went to the best opening available, nothing more.
He also indirectly said that leaving LSU was something he regrets. Watch this clip. http://wafb.com/Global/category.asp?C=4183&nav=menu57_4
thats what i meant to reference i just got ahead of myself and didn't check my post before i hit the submit button. I meant to say he regretted going to the pro level. so we agree.
