There would have been two SEC teams last year. If the season had ended before the LSU/Arky game there would have been 3. None of the other conference commissioners are going to vote for a format that reduces their teams' chances of getting in. They're desperate to loosen the stranglehold the SEC has had on the national championship.
Proof that you are not capable of seeing other view points than your own sir. A 7 and 9 team can make it to the NFL playoffs given the right circumstances. If a 6 win team isn't good, then they won't be around for long will they? It's all about the w's and end result right??? All you guys who love w's should love the idea of LSU competing against a 6 win team in a playoff? You still weed out weak teams, eliminate the small child syndrome, still have conference championships, and throw in the cinderella stories you guys who love basketball spooge your briefs for.

Last season is different. If a playoff would start it wouldnt be last season. Further, if a 6 win team beats last years Bama team in a playoff, then Bama doesnt deserve to be in the title game either. People have preconceived notions all the time. Dude, I am basing this on nothing but your posts that I have responded to. You see, in your scenario, Bama would have gotten left out in favor of a 6 win team. That is preposterous. A playoff should pit the best teams against each other, not the winner of podunk conference.
If they get beat by a 6 win team, which team is truely better? Who gets the W? A truely great team shouldnt get beat by a 6 win team.

I'm not dense at all. Again we are seeing the field from opposite end zones but neither us should be considered dense or stupid. Can we agree that you believe W's are what is important? Can we agree that the team with the higher score at the end of the game gets the W? And the winning team in a playoff game goes on to the next game...right. Can we agree that if a BCS conference team cannot fend off a lesser team they don't deserve a championship right? What does a 6 win lesser conference team become after it beats someone from a BCS conference? answer...A 7 win team. The conference champions are the best teams from each conference. After that is determined, play on the field is what weeds everything out.
