Speaking of Booing, whatever happened to chanting "TigerBait" when the opposing team runs on to the field at DV. I used to try and get it going, but seems like everyone has just gone to doing the universally acceptable "BOOOO". I thought about printing flyers and hanging them all over the stadium to see if I could get it started again.
I think it would be hella cool to have everyone in DV chanting TigerBait.... would make DV an even more feared place to play... just think about what it sounds like when a rival team runs on the field... not to BOOs but "TigerBait""TigerBait"... they would be like "holy sh t"...
Point is you have no idea who you are sitting by and who you may be insulting with a Boo or a curse word. Booing and spitting are emotional reactions, to some they are harsh to others they are not. Booing has no place in Tiger Stadium, nor spitting...........
Yea, I'd like to see how many people you can find that don't think spitting on someone is harsh. :dis: I don't recall every being pro-booing on here, but I'm staunchly anti-spitting, that's all. In fact, I'm pretty anti-booing as well. Unless, of course, there's a player with a nickname that sounds like a boo, like "Moose." :thumb:
Has anyone ever watched a game and the ball is 4th down and one and in-between range on the field and the coach runs the kicking unit onto the field to try a field goal but the players want to go for it, then the crowd boos, the coach calls timeout, and then decides to go for it? That boo is all of a sudden a vote of confidence in your offense, your defense, and the whole team. I am staunchly opposed to booing players, but sometimes the coaches need a kick. So yeah, I think there is an over-sensitivity to a few things around here. Like I said before, everyone just needs to be aware of the difference.
Been to TS many many times. Been "tiger baited" a whole lot. Doesn't bother me. I laugh and act friendly (if possible) with the fans. If I "boo", and you tell me it bothers you, I will either apoligize or not. Probably according to the level of "spirits" or mood I am in. I will try NOT to really insult you though. However, if your wife spits on me, I can't promise you that it will not feel different when you kiss her good night. Reb fan, tiger fan, Vol fan, Bulldog fan.......I can't believe spitting even gets any kind of "in agreement here." These spitters are not the TIGAR fans I know. They are the ones that many other boards post about all the time. You know---the rapist, the 85 year old granny flipping people off, etc. I have been the only reb fan in an area before. People told me they admired me for pulling for the rebs when I was obviously in the minority. Also told me I did it in a sportsmanship manner. I laughed at times and hurt at times. IT IS A GAME THAT DID NOT COST ME ANYTHING OF GREAT VALUE.
