The only one I'm aware of is Karl Dunbar. Is he ready to be a college DC? Would he leave his job w/ the Bears to accept LSU DC job? I can think of several former Tigers who are offensive coaches -- Robiskie, Ensminger, Stokely. Other than Dunbar, no defensive coaches come to mind. I guess guys like AJ Duhe never went into coaching. Hey just reaching but it seems Les is having a hard time finding someone to take this job. I heard RC Slocum's name mentioned, I wonder if he'd really be interested in a coordinator's position?
R.C. Slocum would be a great defensive coordinator. Defense was NEVER his problem at A & M; it was offense.
You're right about RC. His "Wrecking Crew Defense" sure was a force a couple years back. Dat Ngyuen, Brandon Mitchell, Keith Mitchell....I would think that we have players equal, or greater to those guys.
I read something about him at the senoir bowl, looking for a job. I wonder if anyone has talked to him about a DC position or only a HC job and if he is willing to accept one. Seems like that would be the reason he is at the Senior Bowl workouts, to get a DC job.
I took this question to mean college defensive coaches and not high school, right? By the way, Slocum graduated from McNeese St in '67. Not an LSU boy.
