WBRZ/The Advocate has reported that residents should not expect to have power for at least a few days and possibly up to a week or longer. As of right now 91,000 people in East Baton Rouge are without power.
A lot of regular posters haven't been here today and I assumed a lot of them are just without power. I hope that's it and not something worse.
i know... i know... a lot of people headed for higher ground... let's hope this is all it is i sound like a selfish little kid asking for no school, but I: A.) don't know if my parents have a house B.) dont know if I can get back to my hometown C.) dont know if I have power at my place so i think we need to just give everyone time to cope
We didn't have power in Baton Rouge from about 10:30 to 4:00. I can't see us going back to school any time soon either. This was the most powerful hurricane ever to hit Louisiana, so we need to worry about our lives and families right now and not school. We can always make that up later.
Our room came out alright but the people next to us had a leak in their window and their dad was pissed. We just lost a few shingles on the roof here and there that's it.
good, good... i will see you tommorrow i guess if they make the wrong decision and make us go to school, which my gut tells me they will
I'm like 90% certain we're going to have school on Wednesday. The campus has power, we've already missed two days, there is no reason that we shouldn't have class on Wednesday.
