You must be kidding. The NCAA is about nothing BUT $$$ whether they choose to admit it or not. They're not going to mess w/ something that already works.
College Baseball wont be big until the Notre Dames and Michigans win the CWS... as long as TUlane and Cal-Fulerton and Rice are the big teams (among others) then it wont be big time, no matter where you play the championship. Honestly, I like it that way... MLB sucks, I never watch it, never will again...
I vote to keep it in EAUXmaha! It's tradition.... and they've done a GREAT job with that stadium and the whole city really embraces it. If the CWS was moved to Chicago or New York like you say, the interest in it would fall off the planet. People in New York and Chicago don't care about college baseball. In the north--and especially the northeast, professional sports are king. In those places, even college football is more than not, and afterthought. College baseball would have no chance it those places.
I thought WCS was world championship soccer. I don't care where its played as long as its not in the US.
Well that's what I'm saying, of course. Rosenblatt works, yes, but I can see the CWS working better (financially) in bigger markets like L.A. or New York. I think it would be sacrilege to move it from Omaha, but this IS the NCAA we're talking about....
