it can't be too far off. I think they get 6 weeks of practice before the season, I could be wrong though.
The entire team reports on Aug 5. There is a new rule that states freshman must report at the same time as the rest of the team. No more separate practices for freshman before the rest of the team reports. This was in an article in the advocate. The same article also said the NCAA instated another rule regarding practice schedules, which was taken straight from LSU's practices. Here is a quote: "The last couple of years, LSU has been on the cutting edge of preseason practice schedules by installing an alternating format the last two years to cut back on heat-related problems. The Tigers have a day of two-a-days, then a single practice, go back to two-a-days, and so on. The NCAA was apparently so impressed by LSU's reduction in injuries and IVs that it has adopted the LSU format for all football schools, starting with five straight single practice days." and here is the link: http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/062903/col_rabalais001.shtml
