I don't think it's a conspiracy. I just think they suck. The bigger issue is that replay official, whoever he is, should be done. Because that's not just a wrong call. That's incompetence. In slow motion, there was zero doubt.
Yes, there needs to be an investigation and report in short order by Slive. Botching an obvious replay is a whole new level of ineptitude and much more serious than a blown split second call by a field ref. If the replay ref is not suspended, might be time for Slive to go. Slive needs to quit complaining about the coaches complaining and improve the SEC officiating. Multi-billion dollar TV contract for the SEC, growing interest in SEC football throughout the nation, no excuse for consistently blown key calls. Fans want to see the teams settle it, not the refs. I read somewhere that the refs get paid 500 bucks a game. If that is true it is laughable. Billion dollar product and the refs get 500?
I mentioned this in another thread that college football and specifically the SEC officiating is starting to remind me of boxing. So anything is possible.
my friend listening on alabama network radio said that at the beginning of the game when they were announcing all the officials- they were proud to say that a Birmingham native was the official in the replay booth at the game- not meaning much at the beginning of the game- but that call on the interception- who knows?
