If you watch a full day of football you will see a thousand acts much much worse than a quick toss to the DB. That was so minor I can't believe it has even been mentioned. I'm all for sportsmanship and can't stand what the NBA has become and what the NFL is becoming with all the dancing and taunting but please what a non event to be talking about.
agree... it wasn't 'thuggish' and I find it pretty appalling to label him as such. It was juvenile and Im sure he has gotten an earful for it. over and done..
I thought it was a pretty quick handoff myself, did he toss It? I was surprised the UGA guy took the hand off so smoothly, almost as if they had it planned. Maybe he shouldn't have done it, just like one of players shouldn't have pushed a UGA player when they were way out of bounds, but some times they do things they shouldn't do. There's no way you suspend a guy for something like that.
I don't really care what others do and how often things like this happen. It's lame to say other people do things like that all the time. What other kids do on other teams has absolutely nothing to do with the way I expect and hope LSU players will behave (especially on national television) - I don't measure the appropriateness of an action by comparing it to other displays of poor sportsmanship. It is my opinion that what he did was seriously uncalled for and out of character for a present day Tiger player. As for it being a non event - LSU's play in every phase of the game was a non event. If this is an isolated event for Bowe, I will absolutely forget about it. Until then, it bothers me...
Well, I saw him do that, and the only reason it really bothered me is that when the team is down 24-0 (or 24-6 as of that point), he is HARDLY in the position to be getting cocky... that makes it all the more worse.
This is one of the fundamental problems with our culture today, this idea that right and wrong depend on circumstances. What Bowe did was uncalled for whether they were talking about his momma or his sister or about me. Let them talk, do what's right. That's what character is all about. You cannot control what others do, but you can ALWAYS decide what you will do.
Man, I am hemorrhaging reputation points on this one – the blood is in the water… Maybe you guys can get my little box to turn red!? :thumb:
It was a bad move, but not something that we need to worry about. There are a lot of things to fix with this team and that is only one of the things. This team lacks in senior leadership, effort and poise. None of the seniors have stepped up and shown the younger players how to compete on a national level. They want to take it "easy" and not work as hard. They should be working twice as hard as everyone else since we have a huge target on us. :geaux:
That's an excellent point. Not that I would support that kind of action if we are winning, but it does seem worse when the team is losing. I still feel that the entire thing wasn't as bad as it is being made out here, then again I saw it on TV and it lasted just a second or two. I'm sure if I was there at the game, I might feel different. And the last thing we want is for the college game to be stained like the NFL. It's hard enough to sit through an NFL game with all the self promotion going on, we don't need that trash in the college game.
