I am a diabetic and have no choice but to start taking better care of myself or face bad complications. My wife was talking to my brothers wife and told her about these meals that they send you with all the ingrediiants .

We have been doing them for about 3 weeks now getting 4 meals a week.

I have found I like some of them much better than others and my wife is ordering ones to try so it is a chance you don't like it so I go to my backup which is tuna sandwiches.

Does anyone else order from them?

I'm a coonass. If it don't run, swim or fly I don't eat it.

Not HelloFresh, but HomeChef. About the same thing.

I have learned not to get too wrapped up in their directions or every meal will take an hour. I have also learned which meals to cook first. Their veggies and seafood have a short shelf life. Many times I go to my fridge for fresher ingredients. I do 2 meals/wk. It's been a good thing just to get me out of a rut food wise.

All of these services are missing out. They should be sending an appropriate wine with the meal.

Can you order the meals custom packaged to your taste? For instance if I wanted roasted potatoes and green beans with my baked chicken instead of the default selection of lima beans and Brock could I order it that way?

Do desserts come with the meals?

    Are the meals pre-seasoned?

How do they compare with the same thing from a restaurant?

I looked up both Hello Fresh and Home Chef. You have to give them your email addresses before you can really see what they have to offer. I am on too many marketing lists already.

None of the meals are anything super special. They are just a good tool for getting you out of a rut. They typically all require you to make a sauce. This is a good thing because most people either don't know how to make sauces or don't take the time. @stevescookin likes to say that a good sauce is the difference between just eating and dining.

they come all prepackaged with all the directions and some have some spices with it but for the most part if you want spicy you will have to add to it a bit.

Some of the portions are pretty good.

One of them there was a beef part and a salad part with a lot of ingrediants that I didn't care for.

But on another the salad is good.

Sort of have to try them all and see if you like it,

You can order different ones as they change and add ones every week or so.

Due to high blood pressure my doctor has said no salt for me so we pick ones low in salt.

BTW, the ones that come with a sirloin steak are typically not very tender.

I have found that cooking these to at least medium helps to make them a bit more tender.
