Word is that he had a personal (family) matter and was AWOL for a couple of days. However he has not QUIT the team and may be returning.
family issues i remember going to fan day rondell Mealy's senior year and thinking - this guy is going to have some personal reason for leaving the team. his "family" was sitting behind him as he signed autographs... he must have had 20 people out there with him. they were having a picnic, eating chicken, drinking sodas, like a family reunion. That was hilarious.
