I have yet to see someone here post that if they brought kids to that game, that they had to answer a question about the streaker. And you know what if they want to ruin this guys life with this charge, I HOPE his defense puts out the call for people at the game to come forward and have THEIR KIDS testify as to what they saw and remember. This is simple put the DA trying to make a name for himself, so that he will be able to run for a higher office sooner or later. What a second doesnt Doug Moreau call the LSU games with Hawthorne? If so MAYBE Moreau himself was sexual arosed from the event and he is taking his frusration out on this guy for opening a closet door.
And about the argument there were kids there... How many of us saw streakers as kids? I know I did. I was shocked that someone would run around with no clothes, but in a way I found it stupidly funny even then. I don't remember ever seeing anything sexual in it as a kid. And as far as seeing a naked male body? It was no big deal. I wasn't staring at the streaker's private parts, but the stupid act as a whole. Kids tend to take cues from their parents. If the parent freaks out over a nude person, the kid will freak out. If the parents laugh it off as a stupid prank, the kids will laugh it off as a stupid prank.
How is that at all relevent to a naked guy running across a field? How can you say that? What if he does fry? He doesn't necessarily deserve whatever penalty is handed down. The DA is trying to get a penalty that is to harsh for the crime.
my coworker brought his three kids to the game. i only had one son at the time and didn't bring him. my coworker doesn't feel like wasting his time testifying for a dude who should have kept his clothes on. although he did agree that it was more funny than obscene.
Great a perfect example of America today. " I dont think it is right to charge this guy with a sex crime, BUT I am not gonna waste MY TIME speaking out for what is right." Wonderful, I hope your coworker has something happen to him that he will need someone to stand up for what is right on his side, And everyone that could help do not feel like WASTING their time.:thumb:
The people of the community establish the more's. Your beliefs and upbringing establish your personal morals. It is the more's that make the laws for your community. This man was not some young kid who had too much to drink. At 38, he has had ample time to decide his own morals. Whether you like the law or not, you are expected to obey it until it is changed. Just like getting caught with a little weed. Like it or not, it's illegal. Want to smoke it? Work to get the law changed then light up. What he did would not embarass you had you been sitting with your Mother?
