Anyone see a streaker in Tiger Stadium?

Nobody is arguing that there should be no punishment, just that it is not a sexual offense.

And as I mentioned earlier, there's a very distinct difference between flashers & streakers.

 

You don't agree there's a difference between flashing & streaking?

One is sexual the other is not. Flashing has the purpose of clearly showing genitals in a sexual manner & for sexual reasons. Streaking, although done naked, is not done for sexual purposes or in a sexual manner. It is brief & often from far away.

 

I think this is the first time me and you have been on the same side of a discussion.

Nah... We've just disagreed recently with your deep conviction in the evils of our current government.

 

Analyze the situation. A drunk guy at a sporting event, pumped with adrenaline waiting on the game yet bored because it's been pushed back due to rain, no previous history of streaking, and made a joke out of it while on the field by belly flopping on the 50 yd line.

Maybe you can't absolutely say that this didn't have sexual implications, but to me it's pretty clear.

 

That may be true, but I don't think it applies to this guy. I was there. I believe he was stupid and drunk. Hell, if he would have been wearing shorts, it would have been very funny. The guy had some good moves. It took the cops several tries to round him up.

I see your point. Even though I am a father to a young child that was there, I just can't see this young man being branded a sex offender. He might as well shoot himself if that happens. He would be ruined. It would be different if it would have been Cecil Collins. You could look at his past and presume what his intentions were. I don't know this guy, but I am assuming that he doesn't have anything like this in his past.

What he did was wrong, very wrong. But making him a sexual predator would be the same as sending him to the gas chamber. Even though he deserves serious punishment, I still don't believe he deserves that.

 

What happened to land of the free?

 

I guess the sadest part is that it was a 33 year old man doing this. Having said that, give the guy a break. Im not big on fans running on the field in any manner, but I found it to be hilarious. We needed a little laughter after getting freaking soaked. There are people killing other people and we're worried about a guy running naked in a football stadium.
