They will be fine, no doubt about it. This LSU team is very talented and very deep at every position. With the arms the Tigers have they should make a strong run at the national title.

I think we'll get a better idea about this team next week against Tulane. It should be a super regional type atmosphere at The Box. It doesn't look like Smoke is changing his pitching rotation this weekend to save one of them for Tulane. It won't surprise me if Jones tries to save one of his weekend starters for the game next week.

Anyway, I just don't get all that excited about losses this time of the year. Smoke has been just as successful as Skip getting to Omaha. Unfortunately, that's where the comparison ends!

I agree with you about the Tulane game. Jones will send out a someone like Bogusevic to face the Tigers. Tulane has got a great club and has some had some really good wins already this year in sweeping Arizona State and two out of three vs. Pepperdine. I would love to see LSU, Tulane and ULL face off against each other or against the likes of Texas, A&M and Baylor. Tony Robichaux has really got the Cajuns playing great baseball right now.

I don't really care about losses this time of year either and it wasn't the loss to Centenary that really bothered me, it was the lack of effort.

USA beat Auburn 3-0 but that's no upset since USA usually has a strong baseball team. But in the game before that we lost to Elon 6-4.
So I ask ...where the heck is Elon?

LSU is going to get the best from these mid week opponents. One game, the best pitcher will be throwing, and every team will be up for LSU. It is a credit to LSU that they don't lose more of these games. There is a lot of baseball talent in this great land. There are more than a few small schools that field pretty good baseball teams. Long Beach state happens be one. Centenary is not going to win many games against the Tigers.

Do your homework before making such a statement. They did pretty well the last couple of times they played the Tigers in football.

    1932 Football
    Centenary 6 LSU 0

    1933 Football
    Centenary 0 LSU 0

Tulane has a tough run coming up. First, LSU, then the following weekend Cal State Fullerton will be in town.

    MAY become

    MAY

    MAY

    Geeesh people. :)

Maybe we'll bump this thread in a couple years. How do you know this win might not help them recruit a little better for coming years and thus get better? How do you know that me saying they MAY become a decent program is way off base? How? How? How? UL Monroe has been decent. USL has been decent. Southern is even decent. Time and time again state teams have prospered due to success against LSU. Everything is not based off the past. Obviously from what you said, there is only room for them to improve.

Ok, that's enough Centenary talk lol....

    :geauxtige LSU! :tigbas:
