College Football should be treated like the business it is; It's like some big, pink elephant sitting in the middle of a room and no one wants to acknowledge it. There are many business schools that have an emphasis on a certain field. This whole notion that all of these kids are just students at LSU who “just happen” to play football is naïve and disingenuous. College football is the 2nd rung (..used to be the 1st but that’s high school football now) on the professional football ladder.; And we’re not just talking about the players but coaches, trainers, referees, administrators etc. It is big business. Instead of intellectual honesty we get a charade to protect the bourgeois image “Universities” cling to. Even more amusing is that it is big time college football that puts many of these schools on the map financially. They like to ignore that big, pink elephant too.
