1. But after years of putting up with Big 10 arrogance, I certainly am enjoying this week.
  2. If they can do it consistently, then I'd say yes; but not a "Flash in the pan".

As far as Non BCS teams, we'll see how many points Middle Tennesse puts up next week and get a better feel of them. I think the question there is should the Big East be BCS eligible. :hihi:
  3. Thank you. The 8th best team in the country just gave up 42 points to MTS. I don't buy it.
  4. That's true right there.
However, if Appy State finishes undefeated and wins their National Championship (not mythical) what would the pollsters rank them at the end of the season? There seems to be a common theme of letting the little guys have a chance the past few years, while it's a good thing it really complicates things.
  5. My question is if Appy State wins their National Championship, why would they give a chit if they were ranked in the AP poll. They've met their goals.
  6. WINNER!

Say what you want about the AP but the entire country gets a healthy dose of AP poll results shoved down their throat on a daily basis. Whoever is named the AP champ will always be considered, at the very least, co-champs with the BCS winner because again, the entire country is fed the AP poll day in and day out. Just go on any site or look in any newspaper and you will see the AP poll results each and every week its released. It also doesnt help that the AP poll was WIDELY recognized as a legitimate measure of the national champ for decades and decades. Its not going away anytime soon regardless of how much we say it's insignificant because the majority of the country doesn't feel that way. We all know why we feel its insignificant, don't we?
  7. It doesn't matter what us or the rest of the country thinks. It's a media poll created and voted by members of the media. That's why it isn't going away.
  8. At the same time, Appalachian St maybe should be rated because I truly believe some teams in the AP top 25 have inflated rankings based on things other than how good a team they are.

That's true, but to be rated in the AP Poll would be unprecedented.
