    Virginia beats Va. Tech

Va. Tech then beats Miami the next week

That's 2 teams we pass up.

A resounding and spectacular road win against Arkansas on a day in which we will be the only game on TV bodes well for us recouping in the standings.

Given this, I would expect LSU to be #10 in both polls. We will have surpassed Iowa and Michigan in the AP poll, evening us up with the Coaches poll, and then move ahead of both Va. Tech and Miami.

Worst case, a terrific showing against Arkansas puts us #11 in both polls at seasons end before the bowl games start.

A win in the bowl game versus a #11/#12 Iowa would put us probably about 8. A win against a #5 Texas would probably put us about 6.

    Other possible upsets would be:

Texas A&M over Texas (A&M is pretty damn good)
So. Miss over California (at least it's a road game altho So. Miss has mailed in the rest of the season)
Cincinnati over Louisville (Cincy playing very well in their last 4 games - all wins)
Ga. Tech over Georgia (it's still a rivalry game, and which David Greene will show up?)
Nevada over Boise St. (ok, that's a stretch, but at least it's a road game - they can't use that damn blue field to hip-mo-tize their opponent)

I would say that there is about a 40 percent chance that we will get at least 1 upset from these games.

I'll just take a win against Arkansas and let the chips fall where they may.

And you'll gladly take a 10-9 victory in which the offense puts up 178 total yards and we score our only touchdown on a defensive play.

    Hell, so would I. :yelwink2:

I would take a 2-0 victory where they only points came on a snap over the punter's head in the back of the end zone. A win is a win, which is a fact that I think you (Islstl) lose sight of sometimes; regardless of your last post in this thread.

I agree, and like I said earlier, the teams ranked ahead of us have a lot of warts also.

UGA has played down to Marshall and South Carolina on the road. They lost to Tenn and Auburn. Miami lost to NC and Clemson. Miami had so so games vs NC St and Houston. Advantage UGA. The losses to bad Clemson and North Carolina teams far outweigh UGA's close wins and their losses to UT and Auburn.
