Ever since the Aranda hire I have wondered if secretly the administration has it mind to promote Aranda to HC if Miles cannot get the 2016-17 team to live up to it's potential. Anyone else thought this? The guy is an up-and-comer and no one debates that.....and it's already been mentioned a few times that he will be HC material very soon.
Interesting thought. I would think one year isn't long enough to really gauge how he would fit in the state, but you never know.
All the pieces would have to fit right and at right time. Only thing I can say for sure is he will be a HC very soon.
I thought about it not long after we hired him then realized it would make too much sense. If there's one thing more consistent than the sun rising, water being wet and Les miles shitty offense it's the LSU administration always letting politics rule the day. Fuck them for never doing what's best for the program because of their egos. Not saying aranda is homerun hire but he's worth a shot at this point.
LSU won't hire anybody who hasn't been a head coach. They would rather hire another Curley or DiNardo than give it to Aranda
I don't think he's ready for that, but I don't think it will be very long before he will be ready. He's really benefiting from the exposure to recruiting at LSU. The way this guy absorbs information, I wouldn't be surprised to see him become one of the better recruiters in the country when it's all said and done.
I almost mentioned this because, perhaps more so than anywhere else, LSU is a place where the coach has to fit. Like him or not, Miles has done a good job of this, especially for a guy from Michigan. It'll be interesting to see how Aranda works out in BR.....something about him reminds me of Saban in that he appears to be all business, and I like that.
