Dunno man, Saban made the gumps a pipeline for the coaching carousel. Coaches tended to leave bammer for way better gigs after a hot season in t-town.

Not sure that is the norm to just keep paying higher ends to the same fella, always raising the pay scale for a coordinator. After this year defensively, not sure there is value in another half mil squeeze aside from post season bonuses. Could be tho, this is a play to lock recruits in with another sign of stability?

Either way, it's chatter and all cards are now on the table. Time for Woody to earn his keep

Aranda didn't suddenly lose his ability to scheme and make in-game adjustments. I don't think it's any coincidence that the defense jelled and improved when everyone got healthy. In fact, it might be that Aranda and O did a hell of a job with the f=defense considering the key personnel that got hurt.

Not dismissing that at all, just not worth half a mil all things considered. You think we need to back another truck up?

That's not the point. There's a value creation and everytime we dump half a mil into a coach who has a conversation with another team, you start acting like no one else can do it. You do realize our head ball coach makes less than Dave Aranda? The message to all other coaches is answer the phone, get a raise?? We then have infighting over inflated salaries and oppressed values with our coaching staff??? I would want to think Woody is smarter than that.

Our head ball coach makes $4 million and will get a large bump after this season. Likely all the assistants will get raises including a huge one for Joe Brady.

I would think that O would probably share some of his bonus money with the assistants too. Not uncommon for the head coach to do that. As I recall even the evil dwarf did it when he was here.

Iirc, O actually gave up part of his own salary to use for that raise...
