He had several key blocks in the game today.
They totally dominated the Jets D-Line. 1 down, 2 to go!

At 5"10 and 300+ lbs, he would be getting treatment for hypertension right about now, not starting for an NFL team.

Faneca was a man among boys when he played for LSU. I've never seen a big guy that could pull from guard with the quickness he had. He could pull in either direction, lead the sweep, and beat a fast running back to the linebacker and then block him like a godzilla fullback.

I appreciated him even more after he left early for the NFL. I've always believed that our nose-dive the following year was largely due to the offensive drop-off produced by Faneca's departure.

I played particular attention to Faneca, Mawae and McClure this weekend and all three played real well. Faneca was just blowing people off the ball and Mawae & McClure both had a very solid performances as well.

Kevin Faulk looked great and I thought Randall Gay had a good game for the Pats.

Has LSU supplanted Nebraska as "Lineman U"?

Alan Faneca, Kevin Mawae, Todd McClure, Chad Lavalais, Jarvis Green all playing (prominently) this past weekend, not to mention of course, Faulk, Gay, and any others I might have missed (Mark Roman last week). So many former Tigers in the NFL playoffs......ain't it great? :thumb:

The standout play by Faneca for me was in the Florida game where he was 20 yards downfield blocking when Herb Tyler scored. It's not too often you see a lineman do that.

I missed McClure, who's he with?

I saw all the others and they made the Tigers proud this weekend.

McClure is the anchor of the Falcons line, those rushing yards the Falcons have been loading up are proof of the job he is doing. He also almost got into a fight Sat. night, protecting his QB. He was the man in that game and the Falson rushed for 239 yards in the first half alone.

Plays center for Atlanta Falcons. Been there since '99.
