    In response to VandyOutkast:

I don't know your motives, but what kind of person would keep a screenname "Embarassed" even when your team was impressive? That tells me & anyone else all they need to know - that most likely, you were there to vent and/or cause problems.

It's not my opinion. It's a fact. Constitutional rights protect you from the government, not from privately entered contracts such as one you had to agree to to join this board & presumably the Vandy board. This forums happens to be pretty open and doesn't censor too much. That's the mods choice. If they chose to censor, then I can chose to go else where.

WHAT REAL DIFFERENCE does it make to anyone here as to whether I express comments or opinions about the football team at Vandy, LSU or elsewhere?

I have read a lot of criticism coming out of Louisiana (and elsewhere) about FEMA in the aftermath of the unfortunate hurricane-related problems in your state. Do people have the right to criticize or comment negatively about FEMA, Mayor Nagin, Gov. Blanco or others? Should those critics be CENSORED for any such comments, no matter how "negative"?

The answer to this question is too dangerous to type on an Internet forum.

Even if you were correct that I only intended to "stir the pot" (an incorrect assumption on your part), are you claiming that no one ever "stirs the pot" in here? And if they did, should they be barred?

To all: A few parting comments before I "disappear," in essence, from this forum.

    * I appreciate the passion that most of you display in support of your Tigers, and congratulations for last night's victory over my Commodores. Believe me, it was a lot easier to take than a loss to Middle Tennessee.

    * Even if I were to come on this board and "trash" your team and/or LSU fans (which I wouldn't and DIDN'T), I should still have the RIGHT to express any opinion in any forum.

    * The fact is that, whereas I have been a Vandy fan since enrolling there in 1959, I have always had respect for the LSU program. I still recall listening to a radio broadcast of one of LSU's greatest victories: the 1959 win over Ole Miss, when Billy Cannon shook off one would-be tackler after another en route to an 89-yard punt return TD that represented the only score of the game.

    * Whether he did it in fun or not, I don't feel it appropriate for LSUGradin99 to indicate that according to (VandyMania admin Don Yates), I got banned for harassing the woman and children in that forum in private messages. According to LSUGradin99, I was warned once to leave them alone ... yet I persisted after being warned. (Though untrue, such comments don't hurt me in any way because my actual name hasn't been posted in this forum).

    * At any rate, I apologize if I said anything that offended any of you, but I don't know what that would really be. We all share a love of football or we wouldn't be here. I only wish that I could view or post in my alma mater's forums, but I fully realize that a forum Webmaster has the right to remove anyone's posting priviliges for any reason(s) whatsoever.

    * In general, however, we should all have the right to express opinions without fear of CENSORSHIP. I truly believe that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FALSE OPINION.

I may "look in" to this forum once in a while, but for the most part, I'm outta here.

SINCERE BEST WISHES to all of you, and BEST OF LUCK to your Tigers for the rest of the season.
