tack would do us and himself a favor if he were to leave. that street ball dont cut it in college. i lost it for him when he went off on brady on national tv last year. hes also a turnover master. let me ask you if we go one and done in the ncaa tourney will you have had enough?
Ok, without getting overwinded, let me TRY to answer this question. First, in the context that there are 334 Div-1 teams that seem to get ranked in the RPI, and only about one fifth make it into the tourney, IT IS something to be commended simply making it (only 5 teams in the SEC, out of 12, probably will this year). That being said, if LSU makes it and loses in the first round, yes, I'll be disappointed. If they win their first game and lose in the second round, I'll probably think, better than last year, but be slightly bummed. If they win two games and make it to the sweet 16, I'll be happy, and anything beyond that, I'll be estatic. This is because the Tigers were EXPECTED by most folks that know something about basketball to be a "one and done" team. So, hopefully that answers your question. As for "how long" I can take "this," I think you can't look at a college basketball season or team or coach in some black and white way. I chose rather to look at the overall seasons, trends and view the job that Brady has done after the season is over. Someone put a pretty good list of the active coaches in the SEC on another thread, and how many of the active coaches can actually say they've won the SEC? Tubby, Billy D., Mark Gottfried and Rick Stansbury, and CJB. Perhaps you're adding Pearl to this list this year. And, this year CJB will finish in the top 3 amongst these coaches. So, I find it hard to say what I'm "settling" for here, especially when, you could argue that CJB has done better than everyone on this list with the exception of maybe Pearl and Billy D. As for Tack, I'd say, you may have some points, but the negativity is just not productive IMO, especially for kids who have chosen to play for the purple gold. Tack can be a good player. That's all on that. As for the Brady haters' wish to get a Brady replacement, IT's JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN if LSU is challenging for a SEC CHAMPIONSHIP. Unless the FANS put their $ where their mouths are, it's just not going to happen. I've debated this year in and year out it seems, and Brady's season ending RPI keeps going up, and the average attendance keeps going up. Skip obviously doesnt see anything broken. I'd say the only way a replacement is coming is if (A) LSU (now probation free) winds up in the bottom half of the SEC, or (B) LSU continues to improve, and we ARE going to the tourney year in and year out and flaming out in the first round, AND the fans are packing the PMAC and educated paying fans are demanding a change, THEN I'd say Skip will have a difficult question on his hands. Does LSU pay to become a national basketball school? :geauxtige I wish it would, but it won't while football is king and the other sports are competitive.
