  1. Yeah, let's go kick the Tiger and then play dodge the teeth and claws!
  2. such a stupid thing to do. they came into this game in a pefect spot. struggled against BYU, game before the biggest game of LSU's season, and they give LSU a reason to not look ahead. what are you thinking?
  3. It was really stupid. Not only did it fire up the Tiger team, it energized the hostile Tiger Stadium crowd. There was a lot more crowd noise in the first quarter than I expected against Arizona in the afternoon. It was shades of Auburn in 2001 and it pissed everybody off.

And Stoops was out there jumping on the Eye of the Tiger and spitting along with his team. The Tigers didn't hesitate to lay 45 on them.
  4. I did an Arizona preview, so I had the honor, or lack thereof to speak with good ole Stoops.

What a grade-A prick. The guy gave me nothing, because I was just a "student journalist"

And the nice guys here will say: "Aww, but they have great fans."

To hell with that. That guy is like a God there. Their support of him makes them no better than he is.
  5. Jackson hit on Tuitama; although a penalty, set the tone early and let them know how our players felt about being disrespected. I loved that play for that very reason.

I can't for the life of me figure out why teams want to try that crap; especially in our house. It ALWAYS backfires. If I'm AZ, I want to stay as low key as possible, no crazy sh!t like that or any other bulletin board material in the hopes that LSU is looking ahead to the big showdown with a conference rival next week and comes out flat. That's really the only chance they had to be competitive. Not a chance after that bush league stunt.
  6. Don't feel bad Clair. It's genetic. All of the Stoop sisters are like that.
  7. I didn't see any spitting, but when we began to boo them, some of the players began to taunt us in the student section and other ends of the stadium.

I noticed that they had a man standing on the eye, and they were in punt formation. I turned to my friend. "Hey, you don't think they'd... I mean, that's just stupid." (ULL and others have been gathering to the side of the eye before they do their "jump in a large group at midfield routine") Immediately, the punt fired (off and short, btw) downfield and they gathered on the eye. Boos errupted, and players were ready to fight it looked like. Heck, I was ready to fight. And after that, the two sole Arizona fans in the student section were incessantly hounded with "Tiger Bait!"
  8. We do the punt and run before every game, however it is stupid. Too many teams do it and it isn't original.
  9. Ya know, this is really stupid. Why don't we go out and insult a quality opponent on their own turf. Heck, why don't you just bend over and drop trow, its about the same thing.

You don't want to give the opposing team "locker room material" in the press, by saying things like "well they are such a bad team we're gonna really beat their azzes bad this week" because you will get them mad, they'll play over their heads, and who knows what will happen.

Well, we showed them what can happen when you stomp on "our eye". Show them for disrespecting us!
  10. Only two teams have done it in Tiger stadium--Auburn in 2001 and Arizona last night. It's fine to do this at home, but on the road it incites the stadium crowd and isn't really very smart. Disrespect to an opponents logo is an SEC rules violation. If this had been an SEC game, it would have been a 15-yard unsportmanlike conduct penalty.
