But no matter how much the media "hypes" a team doesn't the formula stay the same? So whether Corso or Herby push Oregon or ASU it shouldn't matter seeing that the BCS formula is constant.
The human polls count for 2/3. Its very possible for the voters to jump Oregon with a win over ASU or ASU with wins over Oregon and USC over LSU.
What is crazy, is even in a bye week there is LSU rankings drama. I thought this would be my weekend to relax instead almost all our wins go down and Oregon gets gifted computer love.... Oh well I have to say I agree with islstl, if we win out and take that SEC CG then it will all take care of itself... but still can a Tiger fan get one weekend to relax?
Sorry, but if we beat Bama there is little chance we get jumped. Unless we play a absoloutely horrible game.
That's my point. Style points will be so important going down the stretch. We have to pound teams relentlessly so that media dipshyts don't question us as whether we deserve to be in the BCS #2 spot. Hopefully OSU and BC lose (which I think will happen) and this point will be moot. Then ASU/Oregon winner will be either #1 or #2 in the BCS along with LSU.
I think we pound bama. Our coaching staff always does very well when given extra time to gameplan. Just look at the VT game.
I agree we need to look impressive in beating Bama. Playing LaTech and Ole Miss won't help us in the media polls and will hurt us in the computer polls. Arkansas is probably a push ... won't help or hurt. The key will be our opponent in the SECCG. With Florida losing, it doesn't look like we'll have a highly ranked team to play. Our best shot is for UGA to run the table to finish 10-2 and be in the top 10. But I'm not sure they can do that. We didn't get any help this weekend.
